ICYMI: Last week, Shaquille O'Neal shared a brief story of how he met David Stern before the NBA draft lottery in 1992. Shaq was asked if he wanted to play where it's cold (Minnesota; 16.67% odds) or where it's hot (Orlando; 15.15% odds)... And then Orlando won the lottery. *wink* *wink*
Fast forward almost three decades and almost nobody outside of Minnesota fans care about that. Shaq likely would have left Minnesota just like he did Orlando, though it's fun to think about the "what if" factor had the Wolves retained him and then also were smart and fortunate enough to land Kevin Garnett. Oh how things could be different for this franchise's history...
Nonetheless here we are at 17-40 and coming off arguably the best and most exciting win of the season against Miami. I'm basically hoping for an entertaining game where the Wolves' backcourt plays electric basketball and the young diamonds in the rough -- Jordan McLaughlin and Naz Reid -- maintain their level of production.
I'll also be specifically watching Aaron Gordon on the Magic's side. He would be a nice consolation prize if the Wolves can't pull off a Devin Booker trade this summer.
