Here's why sometimes it's easier to EXPECT losses...

The Wolves have an "Expected W/L" record of 27 - 26, so by being 25 - 28, it would appear the Wolves are under-performing. That seems to be a trend. It would be the 12th straight year that the Wolves have not won more games than "expected"... Consider:
No other NBA team has gone more than 4 years without bucking the trend.
expected wins / actual wins
2018 -- 47 / 47
2017 -- 38 / 31
2016 -- 31 / 29
2015 -- 19 / 16
2014 -- 48 / 40
2013 -- 34 / 31
2012 -- 28 / 26
2011 -- 24 / 17
2010 -- 17 / 15
2009 -- 27 / 24
2008 -- 23 / 22
Meaningful stat... fun nugget... or entirely irrelevant?
[note: the wolves have cycled through 8 coaches since d. casey got the wolves to win more than expected in 2007... oh... wait... he was fired in the middle of the season with a 20 - 20 record... randy wittman took over the exact same team and they went 12 - 30. enjoy everybody!!!]
