Trade expectations for Wolves....

Alright, what does everyone think will happen vs what you want to happen?

I believe we will make a big trade for future assets. Not sure what yet, but I think a rather large move is coming.

Now, for what I want. I would do everything in my power to trade Teague, Dieng, Rose, Taj and Wiggins. I know Rose will be a controversial one on this board. I love what he has done for this team, but I can't help thinking that it will be disastrous to pay this guy beyond next season. He has earned a larger multi-year deal, but I want it to come from another team. I would dump Teague and Wiggins for expiring contracts if need be. I wouldn't give up future assets to trade either. Wonder if Rose could be moved with Dieng to a legit contender for a large expiring deal. Both guys could help a contender this year. I would also be fine including Saric in a deal to get a better player on larger, multi-year deal.

I think Rose is a guy who will be a hired gun year by year. Hard time believing anyone would sign him for longer than a year with an option.

I'd also expect a large Timberwolves trade...

... IF the team didn't have a lame-duck coach and GM at the moment.

Looking at the big picture, do we really want Layden to be the guy changing the direction of the club for the next 5 years? Or Taylor?

As much as it pains me to watch Andrew Wiggins play 29 more basketball games in a Wolves jersey, it MIGHT be best to hang on to him and most other players... and just hope (AGAIN) that somebody with competence comes in with a vision for this franchise this summer.

I agree. I think the price is gonna be fairly low especially if he does want to stay and he has a no trade clause so he can decide the next few hours.

I was thinking Tolliver had a no-trade for his contract but that's wrong just Rose which makes things easier. Honestly the most surprising deal i would expect to see is either Taj or Rose dealt.

The Timberwolves will not make a move. I assume it takes Taylor 2 hours just to get out of bed at this point.

The problem with Layden doing nothing is that it essentially guarantees his departure.

For those that want to dump Wiggins at almost all costs. Would you trade Wiggins and Taj's expiring to Orlando for Ross, Fournier and Simmons? Ross expires after this year and Simmons next year with Fournier signed for a while at 17 million, but he is a better fit next to Roco.

Would they go for that deal right now? That would certainly be beyond the "pennies to the dollar" that the local media seem to be reporting. I don't think that's dumping Wiggins at almost all cost, based on performance alone that is a pretty fair deal.

Cam posed a similar deal a few months ago. I would have been tempted to say yes back then after Cam made his case. No its a no brainer.

Wolfson has said today on Twitter a couple times to questions from fans if the Wolves wanted to just give Wiggins away they could do it. He said they are not going to just give him away. I can't blame them. This offseason though... Heck lets be wildly optimistic and say Ryan Saunders can get through him to a somewhat satisfactory degree. Is that supposed to have happened in a few weeks? What left of this season probably isn't enough time to really say but IF you thought there was a chance you would need more time than what Ryan has gotten so far. I'm not suggesting I think Ryan will get through to him but it may make sense to see what the rest of the season holds. IF someone comes with a moderately interesting offer...sure. We don't know what the offers might be.
