Well, FINALLY Thibs snags a wing that can actually shoot the 3. On paper, it's a good signing, but we'll see if he can get his shot off and make them at the same rate he did in Europe.

This probably means Okogie just got bumped out of the rotation, at least to start the season.

Teague-Jones
Wiggins-Rose
Butler-Nunnally
Gibson-Tolliver
KAT-Dieng

James Nunnally had one of the most efficient shooting seasons of any player outside of the NBA last season posting an eFG% of 89% on unguarded spot up jumpers.

What a stat

Okogie is the only guy who can play defense on that second unit so I would expect his minutes to be fine. This seems like an injury signing so when Rose or Jimmy go down we at least have a spot up shooter to throw out there.

What a dunderhead Thibs is...he can't do anything right.

(I think this is a good signing)

This signing in theory makes perfect sense. The Wolves need shooting. They need complimentary players. This describes exactly what Nunnally has been doing in Europe for a couple years. He has been playing for a very good team winning lots of games and playing for a tough well respected coach. Supposedly he was a defensive player also so we will see. Looking for international players like this was one route I thought the Wolves should and would explore. Now we have him. Will it work out? Only time will tell. One positive is that teams like Boston, Portland and Houston had interest. All of those teams have had some success at the ends of their rosters. It's our turn. If he can just hit spot up 3's and not be a below average defender and play relatively smart Basketball...well that will help quite a bit and if he does we have him locked in for dirt cheap for 2 years.

Solid signing - 3 & D wing on a cheap two year deal, exactly what we needed. This will take the pressure off Okogie and give him a couple of seasons to develop.

Teague / Jones / Terrell (2 way)
Butler / Rose / Okogie / Williams (2 way)
Wiggins / Nunnally
Gibson / Tolliver / Bates - Diop
Towns / Dieng / Patton

I think Thibs is waiting to see who gets bought out before he fills at least one of the two remaining roster spots. He's probably hoping the Lakers buyout and stretch Luol Deng.

Ideally we need another 3 point shooting wing or rebounding big man to round out the roster.

We'll see. I like Okogie's potential defensively, but he seemed a bit over zealous to me when I watched him in Vegas. I actually think lack of 3-point shooting and good spacing on offense is what causes some of our defensive problems to begin with, so I think Nunnally is ahead of him in the rotation....at least to start the season.
