Game Report - Wolves at Nets from Barclays

Light crowd. Less Wolves fans than usual though my section was by the bench so there were fans. Nets fans are always cool though, so everyone was into it.
You know how some teachers may say you begin a course with an "A" and it's up to you to keep it? Well, this team is nothing more than a bunch of losers and it's up to them to shed that label, because until this team turns that corner and finally gets better, they're a losing franchise and anything that suggests otherwise is really just us fooling ourselves. They played a Nets team down Lin, down Vazquez, and with Brook Lopez on a minutes limit where in all honesty were looking forward to the Knicks game at home tomorrow and lost 110-119. The Nets wanted it more than we did. Kenny Atkinson out coached Thibs. There's no way around that. We held a lead three times in this game and each time it was gone the next possession. Every time this team pulled within 1 or 2, BK would hit a three or make a bucket. They played smarter than this team and if you didn't know basketball, you'd think the Nets were the team with the bright future.
Kris Dunn was worthless out there. He looked very tentative and didn't know what to do. Whitehead outplayed him all night. Brooklyn was without a true PG all night, and we combat that by looking like we didn't have one either, until...
Tyus Jones came in and he, NOT Wiggins was the best player on the team tonight. I'd go so far as to say if he started, we might have pulled this out. He was steady and when he had the ball, was able to get guys in different places to get good looks. Wiggins for once rebounded well and shot well, but Hack-A-Wiggins struck gold for Brooklyn down the stretch and once again, he was lazy defensively. I saw Wiggins leave the court. I disagree with everyone who is comparing him to Wes Johnson. He really was pissed with the outcome. He and Towns were not pleased at all with this game. At one point he and LaVine go for a rebound and the ball goes out of bounds. KAT gave Zach such a Kobe-like death stare instead of just brushing it off and moving on to the next play. BK wound up scoring. Team still needs to grow up some.
This team missed an incredible amount of shots around the basket. They couldn't finish. I thought that was a Rubio problem. That has permeated to the whole team.
The defense, oh the defense. A lot of it was just bigs in major foul trouble. Bjelica really tried on defense. Towns tried but was cognizant of his foul trouble (one of which was directly caused by Dunn). Everyone else from Wiggins to Gorgui to LaVine to at times Jones gave them whatever they wanted in the paint. 42 points I think the number was, and that was with Brooklyn getting any shot from outside. As much as I dislike Payne and Hill, I would have just played them to spare the other bigs those extra fouls that made them play so tentative. '' Atkinson didn't play anyone more than 28 minutes and they went 10 deep. Minny played 9 guys but Wiggins /Lavine did about 40 minutes apiece. I don't know how much they'll have in them for the Orlando game.
I'll be back Dec. 2 when Minny comes back to play the Knicks. It better be better than how they played tonight because at this rate, they're losers until proven otherwise. It sucks to say that, but I'm trying to find things that give me hope moving forward and Jones aside, I couldn't find much tonight. If Thibodeau can't get these guys to play defense, who the hell can?
