MGH did a little recent Q and A with Hoops hype.

Thanks for posting Monster. He certainly says all the right things. You gotta have a few guys like this on your roster - hungry undrafted types or late draft picks that have had to claw and scratch their way into playing time. I like all the exposure he's had to different players, coaches, and systems. I think for him it's simply a talent issue. Is he talented enough to be a solid 3 & D wing? Let's hope so.....

And what does he get for a quality 17 minute game against the Kings? 6 minutes against the Suns whilst Wiggins stinking, Belly out and Bazz not playing. I guess he thought Jimmy could do everything.

That's the reward you get from Thibs for doing well. It's bizarre. :)

Thanks for posting, Monster. He certainly seems like a guy we'd all want to pull for. I loved his defense the other night against the Kings. He's really strong, stays low to the ground, moves well laterally and fights aggressively through screens.

As for his potential as a 3-and-D guy, I'm hopeful but not optimistic. He averaged 33% from behind the arc in 4 years of college ball. That's generally not the college profile of a guy who becomes a 3-and-D player in the NBA. The D might be there, but not the three. But I'd like to see him get the chance with some significant and consistent minutes.

Well Lip his college stats are probably a big reason why he went undrafted. =) The thing that's worth looking at is whether this guy kept/keeps developing. There are good college players (or top HS recruits) that don't. We don't have to make a list of guys that just never got much better but I think you get where I am going. I'm not saying I am terribly optimistic about MGH but if someone wants to be optimistic there are some interesting signs. Some of this is stuff I have posted before but that has been a few months ago and there is a bit of new info.

FT% I've been hearing lately that many people are saying that FT% is a better indicator in college of shooting in general and possibly even 3 point shoting than 3 point shooting. MGH improved every year of college finishing at 82%. Ok sure that number doesn't sound great but...he followed that up with over 88% from the FT line last year in 45 games in the D-league. Legit? idk Trending in the right direction? Yep and that's what he has kept doing.

The other aspect that tends to get lost also is he is a guy that likely can handle the ball some also. He isn't a just a sit in the corner guy he played PG his last year in college like he mentioned and that makes him in theory more versatile. I'm not suggesting he is a primary ball handler or anything, but he might be a guy that you throw him the ball he can do more than shoot the ball or just pass it to someone else.

We have really only seen the guy play in a few NBA minutes for the Wolves and...just based on those minutes he looks like he can play. That's a VERY VERY small sample sign but its a little bit encouraging. These are the types of guys the Wolves have to find or really any good franchise has to find to be a top level team year after year. Hopefully he can continue to play some decent ball and we can keep him around. We will see. I'd like to see a bit more. Maybe there is something there. Maybe there isn't. In theory his abilities fit much better than what Bazz can bring although I think Bzz will get another shot at some point unless MGH really surprises. lol
