From now till January 5th I see one surefire loss at Boston. We haven't been exactly consistent but a nice run certainly seems within the realm of possibility.
Dec:
@Memphis
@LAC
Dallas
Philadelphia
Sacramento
Phoenix
Portland
Denver
Phoenix
Los Angeles Lakers
Denver
@Milwaukee
@Indiana
Then Early January:
vs Los Angeles Lakers
@Brooklyn
@Boston

I've just identified another person who I know is going to be disappointed in this team come Jan 5th!
Welcome to the club Doper!

I prepare for all outcomes. I'm a proper Minnesota fan. But it does seem like a fairly light stretch of our schedule.

14 games ago if we had looked at the schedule we just completed there was really only one or two "surefire" losses, yet we went 7-7.
I'd be happy with going 9-7 in the stretch of games above. That would put us 6 games over .500 and give us some room for error in terms of that 7th or 8th seed.

Q - I know you're holding to your 38-42-win projection and don't expect anything better than a 7th or 8th seed from the Wolves. But I still expect more given the talent level on this roster. When you look at the Jazz record and then at their roster, you see what good coaching can do. Heck, they've been winning without Gobert. While he's been out, the Jazz have had the League's 2nd ranked offense and 14th ranked defense. So while a 9-7 record over this stretch will make you happy, it will leave me feeling sullen and dejected. I won't accept anything worse than 12-4.

Here's the tragic thing about this team. Looking at the 11 games starting with last night, barring injury, I'm failry certain we will be favored in the next 11 games (up until the Bucks' game). A well-coached team should be able to win at least 9 out of 11 games in which they are favored. But this team is not well-coached, and we are more likely to underachieve and win only 6...heck, we are already 0-1 in this stretch as a favorite. Thank you, Thibs.

I blame this positive thread, and Thibs, and KAT, and Wigs, and Thibs, and Thibs, and this thread for last nights ugly loss.

Like I said....9-7 is a realistic goal. Anything more than that is gravy. Anything less than that...sigh...won't be surprising but I think will be the beginning of the end in terms of playoff hopes since the schedule will only get harder after this stretch.

When Vegas says you should do 13-3 (based on point spreads)...and I think we will be favored in at least 13 of these games, maybe 14...and you only win 9 of them, something pathological is happening. I still think we will win closer to 11 (still underachieving) assuming a healthy Butler. But let's continue to monitor this thread.

I think we easily get 9 wins. Our home record has been legit. I think people forget even when we were a playoff team and winning games it took us a while to be a winning team on the road. Our first winning season with Garnett we were 19-22 on the road and 26-15 at home. Of those teams only 3 of the 8 playoff teams had winning Road records with one season being 1 game over 500. It has always been hard to win on the road in this league. We got a good stretch at home coming up. Go Wolves.
