Maybe thibs planned on tanking to get this pick once kawhi leonard became available. Having our 1st with okcs first along with wiggins may just be the deal to lure leonard to minnesota.

If this would be enough to get leonard and losing tomorrow meant getting leonard would you want to win or lose tomorrow?

You would think thay san antonio would seriously have to consider that deal and it sounds like leonard is for sure being dealt this offseason.

Even better thibs being fired and getting a competent coach and gm to run the team

Kawhi has only one season locked in after this year, so you better make sure you have an extension signed.

Shipping Wiggins and that contract out and getting Kawhi back, count me in!

In what world do Jimmy, Kawhi and Towns not all opt in at the same time and make a run at it?

I love Kawhi as a player. But beware. Before this season, he averaged 66.3 games per season, has played 70+ games in only two of his seasons and has never played more than 74 games. And of course, this season, he's played only 9 games. Wiggins and two first round picks for Kawhi is tempting, but temptation can be dangerous.

If push comes to shove I do it because when Kawhi plays he is a top 3 player in the NBA. But it should also be said that the rumors are that he wants out to play in the bigger markets because he was turned down by some off the court advertising because he is quite and quite in San Antionio doesn't sell. Would Quite in minnesota sell, not sure, especially with 2 big personalities in Towns and Butler.

Don't undersell that Kawhi has a championship already he doesn't need to chase one.

I'd say the real world.

I'd call it the delusional world. Why are you so afraid of players leaving especially if they were on a team that stacked with top talent?

I mean, yeah, I'd make an offer for Leonard that included Wiggins.

Would I want the Wolves to miss the playoffs in order to facilitate that? No, I wouldn't.

Also, if a mid-first round pick is the only thing stopping that deal, then you're not being creative enough as a front office. It would all come down to how the Spurs view Wiggins. Plain and simple. The secondary pieces are manageable.

I agree, Cam. It's Wiggins that would make or break that deal and it wouldn't turn on whether the Spurs also get a #15 pick. The Spurs have been pretty good to say the least at getting great talent in the late first round, so they'd certainly value the OKC pick.

I just don't know enough about Kawhi's physical condition to know the risk. I do know, like Jimmy, he's a guy you can't count on for more than 60-67 games. On the other hand, if he's healthy, that's 60-67 games with Kawhi instead of Wiggins. Hard to pass on that.

I'd like to believe Atlanta would deal Prince and Bazemore for Wiggins and our OKC pick. But I'd also like to still believe in Santa Clause. Perhaps Atlanta would do that deal if we also a #15 pick (assuming we lose tomorrow night).
