Britt talks to Thibs

Britt sat down for a chat like he has before with other Wolves coaches. Part 1 is interesting but isn't particularly revealing. Part 2 is a must read espcially if you have interest into what a Thibs wants to do defensively. In part one espcially Britt really has some detailed and insightful questions and Thibs gives some pretty insightful answers. There is a lot to read through but I think both are worth the time.

Thanks for posting Monster. I haven't had a chance to read them yet, but I know Britt goes deep in these things - way better than anything we'd see from Zgoda.

Apparently people haven't read this. If people had there would be some posts. Like I said part 2 is basically required reading if you are a wolves fan IMO. Thibs gives some interesting stuff it's not just boring.

Impressive that you read it without directions on clicking the link and stuff. Way to step it up man. This board is clearly on the rise.

Finally read Part II, as I had seen Part I when it first came out.

Wow, Britt definitely goes deep with Thibs and we get a lot of insight on defense and communication. It's also clear that he sees the same thing we do: These three young guys aren't there yet defensively.

Britt also did a podcast talking about this interview. This time the political stuff is on the back end so you can end it after 45mins if you just want basketball:

The part that I really saw from the interview that they highlighted is that win now is not the top priority by any means. I think they're going to sign a key free agent next year. I also think they will match Bazz up to a significant number.

They had a side bar conversation about Bazz, it was interesting to me how little Britt knew about Tourettes and decided that Bazz's ticks weren't from tourettes at all but from something else. Britt is an intense dude, I wouldn't want him making a diagnosis about me certainly.

I've listened to their last 3-4 podcasts now. I have a few thoughts.

First on Bazz Britt is coming from a good place wanting to have a great sort celebrating Bazz's success but it's weird how he is so insistent on that story. I am a person who has a disability and pretty much my entire post college professional career has been working with people with disabilities. It was mentioned Britt has a son with disabilities so...he isn't clueless about this. The thing is many people don't want to be defined by something. Many people like to control the way they are perceived. Bazz likely doesn't want to talk about his condition because he wants to be defined as a basketball player, a staylish dude, a guy that does cool stuff or whatever. Bazz has been in the spotlight plenty and in some cases for the wrong reasons. He probly has little interest in revisiting his younger past which includes his father who probably did. Some good things for him but also was obviously not always a positive. Bazz seems like a guy not really looking for spotlight. To me he has no obligation to talk about his condition especially since his career is uncertain as to what direction it is going. Maybe if he signs a long term deal somewhere he might want to talk about his journey or maybe he won't ever or maybe when he is retiring or on the back end of his career he will open up.

Thibs said someone from the Wolves contacted him and said that it's been right in front of them the whole time and why didn't they see it before...Rubio with the ball and Towns playing near the basket.

Britt kinda drives me nuts with his sorta Lavine vs Wiggins takes even though some of his points are very good. In one podcast he actually said Lavine doesn't move without the ball. I'm not exactly sure what he has been watching during every single game he has seen. Especially when Wiggins can be seen just standing there during a possession like it's a dead ball situation this is hands on his hips. I think his point about Lavine's defensive positioning is something I would have liked to have looked at more if he was still healthy. Britt is BIG on defense and always has since I have read anything he has written so that angle is worth considering when reading or listening to what he has to say. We all have certain things to consider what angle we are coming from.
