Been seeing some legit traction for Rubio making the All D team.
And Zach Lowe sneaked Towns onto his 3rd team All NBA.
Obviously, Towns will win the ROY, unanimously... unless a guy TOO interested in promoting himself and advanced analytics throws in a curveball.

Ricky has the best defensive RPM for all point guards and leads in steals per minute. Ricky deserves to be on the All NBA Defensive Team.

I've been promoting Karl-Anthony Towns as an All-NBA selection since mid-season. That's when it became clear to me that there wasn't three better centers in the league this year. DeMarcus Cousins and Hassan Whiteside are pretty much locks to be named All-NBA. I think it comes down to Towns vs Andre Drummond. I think Towns has been better than Drummond. Forget about the rookie label and give the best players the recognition.
Also, here are some cool fun facts that I researched and saved for the off-season.
Since 1979-80, only four players have won ROY & All-NBA honors in same season: Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan.
Since 1981-82, only eight rookies have won Rookie of the Month for each month during the season: Ralph Sampson, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Damian Lillard.
Towns should be added to both lists.

You forgot to add Draymond he is eligible at center for the ballot, so one more person he has to beat. I also did think Whiteside is a lock. Think it is Drummond, Whiteside and towns for the last spot.
Either way how nice is it to have a player who is even in the conversation for all NBA after their rookie year

I think Green will make it as a forward. That's predominantly what he plays. He'll probably be a 2nd-team guy based on how much attention he got this year and the season GS had. Would be a mistake to put him over those four more traditional centers.

I guess I should have mentioned that when I was saying that at mid-season, some on Twitter thought that was a ridiculous thought and had no chance of happening.
I'll take the title of "biggest fan" gladly, but I have a feeling Karl Towns Sr. would have something to say about that. Gotta love how KAT has his dad in his corner all the time.

I'd love for Rubio to even get 2nd team defense to shove it in the pie holes of those announcers that said for years he can't defend.
Next year Towns will be in the conversation as best big in the entire league. 2 years from now he will be in the conversation of one of the ripe 5 players in the game. I don't usually make such stron g predictions on a guy after a rookie year but Towns is different.
