Thanks for posting. The ESPN article that was regencies in the article was pretty good.

Cam I know who you want as the next Wolves coach but would you have interest in Bickerstaff of Houston let's him go?

There are some nice names out there many of them young guys but I sorta feel like I would like someone with NBA head coaching experience right now with where the team and organization is at. Now if the Wolves hire a young inexperienced head coach this summer I won't hate it either that's just sort of where I am at.

It's nice to dream, but there will be no new head coach next year. With the strong post all-star run by the Wolves I believe there is only about a 0.0000000090000000001% chance Glenn makes a change, and I rounded up to get that high.

Of those six, i'd take Boylen. I think he would be the best fit due to his temperament, experience, and coaching pedigree.

Agreed. And Mitchell has a good case to make. They beat the Vegas line and are ending strong on the backs of their youngsters. I don't necessarily like the fact Mitchell is going to be extended, but I get it.

The Chicago Bulls just missed the playoffs... That hasn't happened since 2008. This same group of guys won 50 games and were the 3rd seed just last year. The only difference is that Tom Thibodeau wasn't leading the team, Fred Hoiberg was. Is that just coincidence? I highly doubt it. Replacing an elite NBA head coach is damn near impossible.

I'm still driving the Bring Thibs to Minnesota tour bus. I do realize the very real and likely possibility of Sam Mitchell being brought back for next year. While I think it would be a mistake, I just have to hope that Thibs won't take over a job this summer and will wait until the summer of 2017 to come here.

PS: Yes, I still like J.B. Bickerstaff. He wasn't able to get that group of Houston Rockets into the playoffs, but not many would have. Team looked like they quit halfway in the season. Also, Kevin McHale should have never been fired. They made a mistake there.

I basically agree with everything you posted here. As some that's a fan of Hoiberg but also likes Thibs and a lot of the Bulls players so will bring up the health of the roster this year vs last year as a factor in the win loss drop. I'm just looking at games played for key players between both seasons and it's pretty significant. Thibs always was able to overcome injuries so that's still a feather in his cap but I also don't think it's quite fair to say Hoiberg had the same roster as the year before because of the games missed. It's still pretty brutal they dropped from contender to out of the playoffs in a few months. Their roster is at a bit of a crossroads imo. Losing Noah after just 29 games is pretty huge he was/is such a big part of what made that team good all these years.

The rub with using the injuries excuse... is that it was arguably the main argument against Thibodeau. Remember, he was the guy constantly ripped for using the players too much... which caused those injuries.

I didn't buy into it too much. And the guy still won even without a former MVP in the lineup. The guy can coach. It should be obvious for everybody. (Can he be the GM too though... as I've repeated many times now... that's the part that scares me.)

Good points. Just to clarify I was more defending Hoiberg a bit not trying to knock down Thibs a peg or anything.

I think pretty everyone is unsure about Thibs as the final decision maker. Is he really qualified for that? I guess you could say he may be just about as qualified as number of other guys you could bring in as he has been around the NBA game forever and some other NBA head coaches have seemed to do at least better than the guys they replaced as decision makers in Flip and SVG. Obviously in one case the bar was low. Flip and SVG and Doc had been the HC in at least 2 different franchises before fully taking over a team and I think that's significant and Thibs has only one stop. Doc doesn't seem to have many fans of what he has done as the final decision maker. With SVG and Flip the franchises they took over it was sort of a no brainer and the Clips wanted an elite coach so the made the move.

Even if you didn't like Flip taking over and many fans including most on this board weren't thrilled with it even just as a GM role but we also realized he wasn't a moron and would be an easy upgrade from Kahn because Flip was an actual basketball guy. Personally at this point I think the Wolves need a steady hand making the basketball decisions. Milt and Sam together at this point make a poor pair as guys selling the franchise especially following Flip but if they can do their jobs and have the team have success nobody will care all that much of they are great in front of the cameras and interviews etc. Milt won't ever be a salesman but I could see him growing into a guy that's easy to respect when he talks and I would be ok with that.

Wait. What's Thibodeau's family situation?

Doc brought in Austin. Flip brought in Ryan. And even Jerry Colangelo seemed to have staged a coup all in the guise to get his kid a job in Philadelphia.

Are we gonna get stuck with Lil Timmy Thibodeau taking over for Arnie Kander or something?
