How did he not make this list? Anyone else think he is a top 5 ball handler?

Are you kidding? Consider the source: Cheatsheet. That sounds like just a random list by some random person. And how does one measure ball handling anyway? Is it fewer turnovers to assists? I think some other random person creating a random list of ball handlers might include Ricky. Such a subjective exercise.

He has a top 5 handle in my book. But this is just one guy's opinion.

I think once you consder his IQ/Vision/Handle he is surely top 5. Some of the people on that list surprised me for sure.

The term "ballhandler" means different things to different people.

For what it's worth, I've heard broadcasters use Crawford, Irving and Curry before as examples of some of the league's best ballhandlers/dribblers. Paul makes sense. And so does Harden. He's extremely creative and a gifted passer when he wants to be. He might average 10 apg this season.

That being said, Rubio might not be able to use his dribble to create for himself like those guys... but he can use it somewhat to create for others. And isn't passing part of handling the ball? Maybe the author used ball handling = dribbling...?

I almost went a similar route... but that would have made two times in the past week.

Rubio commits few turnovers while handling the ball (aka dribble off the foot) compared to other guards in the league. Only CP3 (not a surprise) and Conley (the leader) commit less.

Ricky is more substance over flash with his dribble game.

I read most of Isaiah Thomas's article and I didn't really have a problem with any of his picks/takes. If you wanted a make a list of 5 guys you have plenty of guys you could pick from. Heck Andre Miller could easily make the list. The guy looks old is old and makes dudes look bad. It seemed he highlighted a variety of different players so I thought that made things a bit interesting. I did notice he left out Towns though who beat him in the skills challenge. Lol
