New trade thread! (couldn't find the old one)

My first trade idea:
Wolves trade Rubio and a 1st round unprotected pick to the Lakers for Russell and Nick Young
Wolves get out of worrying about Rubio. Have a core of high 1st round picks all under the drinking age with Russell,Lavine,Wiggins, and Towns
Lakers get a nice pick, get out of swaggy P's contract, and get a solid player when healthy Ricky Rubio

You propose trading the best two assets for the worst two assets. Are you David Kahn?

To be fair, not everybody is cemented in their analysis about Russell after a handful of games with arguably the worst kind of supporting cast for a young PG...
Nick Young, Lou Williams, Kobe Bryant... ugh. That trio is doing a lot more to curb Russell's growth than it is fostering it...

Huge red flag if Lakers would trade the #2 pick for a guy that is so injury prone. The pick probably doesn't hold much weight either since the Wolves need to fulfill their obligations to Boston via Phoenix first.

Not even Kahn would think of something this ridiculous

Lol. I was wondering the same thing. No shortage of silly ideas I guess.

If we are looking at trades then martin should be the one we look to deal. The last 2 games shows that lavine is capable of the role that martin is supposed to have as an instant offense guy who can be a volume 3pt shooter and make a good percentage of them.
We should look to trade martin for either
1. A 3 and d sf to replace prince in the starting lineup. Nic Batum type would be ideal. Make lavine play the combo guard role off the bench being an aggressor and not just looking to get martin or bazz going. He would be backing up both rubio and wig. ( make sure we have a combo of 2 of rubio/wig/lavine playing at the same time) Miller or tyus can get some minutes at pg in certain games.
2. A good quality backup pg like collison or bradley.
Martin's trade value at this point isn't high though so we might not get a good deal at this point.

I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of trading Martin if we can get something back that makes us better. But as I look at the statistics through the first 10 games or so (starting to get out of the small sample size category), I don't see Collison or Bradley as an upgrade at backup PG. Here are the stats...you can find Collison by scrolling down about half a page from Zach. Finding Bradley takes a little more work...gotta move to page 2.

How is Rubio or a 1st round pick a higher asset then Russel?
