Good article....This is where a true journalist has an advantage over non-credentialed bloggers and regular folk like us. This guy actually has access to players.

So it isn't just us that have a problem with Sammich, his outdated offense, his platoon changes, his treatment of the kids.

I am not worried about him being hard on the guys if he can balance it with he is doing so because he just sees how good they can be and wants them to reach that level and not settle for less.

The offense and platoon's suck. I like how he kept a short bench against the Cavs. We will see how things go tonight vs the Thunder.

It is interesting how the three themes AP guy points out seem to match almost exactly what us outside fans have been saying. Given the ubiquitous nature of fan-driven media (blogs, boards, comments sections, Twitter), it's not surprising that everyone has converged upon the same conclusions, as I'm sure the players read the media and AP Jon himself is constantly interacting with fans on Twitter that probably influences his own views. Ya, my biggest problem with Sam is his lack of accountability. It's always the players doing something wrong. There's nothing he could do different or better. That's how you lose locker rooms.

I have no problem holding the players accountable. After all, that MIGHT be the most important thing for some of today's young and promising stars. Teach them what it takes to be great.

That being said... yes... Mitchell has to do the same (be accountable) or that approach loses steam and gets turned around quickly.

Right, of the three themes that the players brought up, I have to believe the one on Sam's lack of personal accountability is the one that rubs them the wrong way the most. His "tough-love" method would go a lot further if he gave them more air cover and pointed the finger at himself more often (even if it's just for affect with the media, e.g. "This loss is on me").

Becoming the Borg? That's deep stuff Tim, however, given how split up this country is politically, I'm not seeing it.
