No, I'm not talking about our own Andre Miller. I'm referring to Detroit's Andre Drummomd. He had 29 points and 27 rebounds tonight in a win over Portland. He's averaging 18.6 points and 19 boards. Depending on how well the Pistons ultimately do, Mr. Drummond is looking like a MVP candidate. His rebounding is prolific.

Drummond's been great and is logging ridiculous box scores, and he's having a season people haven't seen since Moses Malone, but that Detroit Pistons team is winning because of Reggie Jackson. He's their MVP, in my opinion, but that shouldn't take away from Andre's big season so far. 20/20 is practically unheard of.

I said last year that Andre Drummond would be a guy I would trade Wiggins for. Andre is a good case for Wiggins being able to put it together. He was considered a little to passive and underwhelming coming out of college and lacking motor.

Stan Van Gundy has done nice job to create team that maximizes Drummond's potential. I think offensively he can be even better than Dwight Howard was with Van Gundy's Orlando teams but I don't see Drummond ever being as good defensively than Dwight was back then. This is also good example about how important spacing is in offense. Detroit basically replaced Greg Monroe with Ilyasova and worse of Morris twins. Monroe is much better player than either ilyasova or Morris but his skill set is not nearly as useful when used with Drummond in lineup.

I totally thought this was gonna be about Andre the Giant.

The Pistons have done well that SVG guy might know what he is doing.

Those are some amazing numbers. Keep in mind he was a very good rebounder prior to this season too, so it's not like he just bursted onto the scene. But yeah, it seems like Monroe's departure has allowed Drummond to really assert himself.

He still can't hit his free throws. That will be something to watch in close game situations. Hack-a-Drummond.

You have to think the free throws are going to be an issue.

It's an issue for a 4th or 5th option like D. Jordan. Drummond is a go-to guy for Detroit. He has the ball a lot. And despite starting the season 14 - 21... he's regressed back to what he's always been... a HORRIFIC shooter.

Looking at that Detroit roster I see Anthony Tolliver. He isn't a significant player but ultimately I think he would have been a guy we should have kept around with the previous re-re-rebuild. He is sort of a Dante Hummel type but is a volume 3 point shooter and seemed to be a guy that might have had some sort of leadership role. He hasn't had too hard of a time finding a place to play and has played decent minutes on teams that at the very least don't suck. It's water under the bridge now because we are in a different place that has nice promise but it's something to consider that some of these guys that may seem to have limited ceilings and be replaceable may have value after all. It would be nice to see some consistency on the roster if it's reasonable.
