Can we get more than three games into the season before jumping to conclusions?

But I must admit, I like this one:

david b. thorpe ?@coachthorpe 17m17 minutes ago
i know it's just been 3 games against non-playoff teams, but I have seen enough to suggest that Karl Anthony Towns has more upside than AD.

It looks like he is averaging 30.7 minutes/game through 3 games.

Wow, yeah let's all settle down with Towns, he'll get his minutes, but let's not overkill it like Wiggins last year. I like Thorpe too, but that's pretty ridiculous.

Yeah I just saw this a few minutes ago too Tim. Ok so this seems crazy but how crazy? Towns looks like an incredible talent right now no doubt about it.

Holy Balls! A bit over the top, but I love it. Next up - He has more upside than Hakeem The Dream

I'm really looking forward to the Miami game. Our first games against three weaker western conference teams was a good starting point. We went 2-1, but were in position to win (or lose!) all three. The Miami game will provide a nice benchmark for how we are progressing.

I'm ok with Towns continuing to get about 30 minutes. And I don't find the Thorpe comment too preposterous. I don't think that anyone would argue that 19-y-o Towns has a more developed offensive game than 19-y-o Davis. Whiteside will be a tough test for him Thursday...he's putting up some freakish numbers.

Agreed. I keep waiting for Whiteside to regress, but it may not happen.

I'm kinda sorta OK with the minutes so far. Rubio is averaging the most at 31.7 and then Towns is the only other guy at 30 MPG or higher.

Given our injury history and the fact we are at full strength, I guess I don't have too much of a problem with throttling back a little, knowing that there will come a time as the season progresses where guys will probably have to carry a heavier load.
