The Bulls front office has done a terrific job this summer. They converted their two mid-first rounders into Doug McDermott will be a great NBA shooter and very good all-around player. The signed Pau Gasol, re-signed Hinrich and signed a great Euro prospect in Mirotic. They have Noah, Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler. And they have the best head coach in the NBA. If Rose stays healthy, the Bulls will be the prohibitive favorite in the East -- unless the Cavs step up with a bold move. Like trading for Kevin Love.

Obviously my point is this. The Cavs' front office and owner see what the Bulls have done. Blatt certainly knows how good Mirotic can be. And LeBron certainly sees what's happening. In other words, the specter of the Bulls, especially in light of what they've done this summer, has to make a trade for a Love an even bigger imperative for the Cavs.

The only qualifier is Rose's health, will he be the Rose we remember, or even close to it? No matter what his abilities are can he stay on the floor for a full season? Those are big "ifs" for the Bulls, but if they pan out then I absolutely agree, otherwise they're just another good Eastern team, not great.

Great point Lip. I agree that Bulls done very good job this summer.
I`m not sure how Mirotic will be in the N.B.A.
I saw Mirotic a lot in the Euroleague - he is a good player, but I`m not sure if he will good enough for playing N.B.A.
I`m not sure the summer of the Bulls will effect the Cavs decisions.

Total agreement. Gasol will go miles towards fixing their offensive woes all by himself. They're a top-four seed before factoring in the potential emergence of McDermott or Mirotic (or return to form of Rose). If one or two of the "unknowns" break right for the Bulls, they'll be the favorites in the East. In fact, as much as Love would improve the Cavs, I'm not sure I'd favor a Love-infused Cleveland over this year's Chicago squad.

Yes, I'm sure Chicago's defense will continue to be suffocating, but the best part about Thibs defense is that he can pinpoint one guy on the opposition and do a good job of making life tough. Have fun taking out LeBron with Love and Irving behind him.

Well it is not 3 on 3. It is 5 on 5. If anything we shoudl know after the finals this year is that the better coached team can win. I trust Thib.

Good stuff Lip. But let's not forget who is the best coach in the NBA. He goes by the name "Pop"

And the Heat won the Finals the year before? They lost this year because they weren't the better team. The Bulls are not the Spurs; far from it actually. And this Cavs team will be far better than last year's Heat team. I love Thibs, but his coaching does not beat a threesome of LeBron/Love/Irving. Pop and the Spurs? Well, that's a coin flip.

Problem is Irving and Love are horrible defenders. If Rose is healthy and 90% of what he was it will be a big problem for the Cavs. Noah and Gibson can dog Love. Butler and Snell can dog Lebron. Rose would be able to handle Irving. They can handle multiple threats. Add in how well Thib makes a team defend as a unit I don't see it is a problem. This Bulls team should be able to score enough to take advantage of that.
