The media really controls us all

Love comes out and says that the Wolves situation is much better then the Lakers. The media says he liar and its 100% he wants to come to the Lakers.

Love goes slient and the media convinces people that he wants out for sure.

Love goes to Boston, media convinces fans that Love wants to go to Boston.

It's really funny how the media can control everything. Love could of went anywhere in America and the media would of spun it. Do people want him going to the Bahamas in June where its 100 degrees?

I rather be in Bahamas every single time above Boston. You think if he goes to Philadelphia there would been a deal made out of that?

I mean sure the media blows all this stuff out of proportion but dont kid yourself that it was just a random trip there. Truth is he was never gonna spend the time KG did here and with this team. Is it annoying? yeah but that's the NBA for you, all you can do is hope you get lucky in the draft and build a winner fast and even then you're gonna have a hard time keeping your stars simply because you dont play in a big market.

That's silly, There's nothing in Philly. They're sports team stink, and it's pretty dirty as it is. Love can afford to go to where ever he wants. He's already been to cali, im sure he's gone to tropical places all the time. He said he's never been to Boston so when else would he go?

Also to say he was never going to spend the time KG did. Love would of gladly signed the 5 year max, meaning he wanted to be here at least 8 years

Yosi's right Alex. This is today's NBA. We just have to deal with it or check out. I'm getting close to the latter myself. I miss the 80's NBA. Would Barkley have flown to Boston to hang out with Larry Bird at a Red Sox game?

He could of and we just didn't know about it. The media wasn't a 24/7 juggernaut that it is today

Love has alienated just about everyone in the organization including his teammates. Whether you want it to happen or not, Love has a 95% chance of being dealt before the season. The Love situation was screwed up years ago with the contract opt out and horrible drafting history. It's obvious to me that the front office will realize that and decide to get what they can while the getting is good. It might not be the harvest we all want, but it will happen. It's really common sense at this point.

More media: "Timberwolves are discussing Kevin Love trade scenarios w/ teams, but made it clear deal's unlikely until they've hired a coach. sources say." -- Woj

"Once Wolves hire coach, they'll likely try to sell Love again on a vision and direction. For now, his stance hasn't changed: He wants out." -- Woj

I agree with Cool that the Wolves front office and ownership is the problem. Love desperately wanted to sign a 5 year deal here. Not the sign of someone inclined to leave. Fact is, Love likes the Twin Cities. Those who know him know he's not a partier and doesn't go for glitz or glamour . He's all about basketball and wants to win. The Wolves current situation with Love has nothing to do with our climate or the size of our market. In fact, lots of elite players have opted to go to or stay with teams in smaller or only slightly larger markets than this one -- Durant and Westbrook in Ok City. Duncan, Parker and Manu in San Antonio. Roy and Aldridge in Portland, etc. Or how about KG in MN? He never wanted to leave and only reluctantly signed off on the trade to Boston.

It's about winning. The Wolves have been horribly mismanaged. They have repeatedly squandered opportunities to build a winner around Love and they pissed off Love in the process by the way they handled his contract negotiations. That's why Love is refusing to exercise his option on the 4th year of his deal and is likely to leave after next season. It's that simple. It's not our market, which is actually a pretty large and affluent one.

Lip is right I do think Love likes it in Minny. Also consider Love doesn't have a coach that he will stay in Minny for because of their relationship like say Duncan and Pop (extreme example and even Duncan almost left). I think Spolstra may be a more significant reason than has been considered for why Lebron stays with the Heat if he does.
If Flip makes the right hire at coach Maybe Love might be a bit interested but its also about talent and the Wolves have botched that most of Love's time here and hiring Rambis was a terribly botched job too. Maybe Flip can convince Love he knows what the hell he is doing. It may be tough because you probably can't sell Love on anything by talking he is probably tired of that song and dance from Kahn who was very good at selling but the product wasn't delievered. lol
