I'm just morbidly curious if the Cavs will be able to jusrtify offering a max contract after the season he's given them

Going to be SO interesting this offseason....with Tristan Thompson turning down that extension and being repped by Lebron's agency, I really think they sign-and-trade Love (or let him go altogether) and just use that money to upgrade their bench.

The funny thing is... Love's still getting 17/10 a night and making almost 2 threes made per game. You Love haters can throw stones at him, but he's still one of the best PFs in basketball.

I'm not disputing that he is one of the top ten PF's in the NBA, even if his PER ranks him 13th. But remember last year when we used to talk about him as a top ten PLAYER, not top ten PF. What a difference a year makes.
I don't think I would like to be Jeff Schwartz and have to make an argument for a new contract coming off of a season with these numbers. His numbers are workman-like, but certainly not star quality. Guys who don't make the all star team don't get close to max contracts the next year.

LST, It's clear that Blatt prefers opening up the middle and having LeBron and Kyrie slash to the rim. Love's primary purpose on that squad is to pull a big outside of the paint. Cleveland could spend a lot less money and find someone else to do that role.
My problem with all of this is that if Love goes anywhere else, it's likely the Western Conference. No matter how much you dislike or disrespect him, we do NOT want him in the Western Conference. It's stacked enough as it is.

Yup, I'd be willing to be a lot of money that they rebuild/re-tool faster than us. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Kevin Love is a part of that process.
