So what do you think his influence is worth, if you had to put a number on it?

i was skeptical of the kg effect when the trade happened. Got swept away by the emotion and energy in kg's first game back. Has come back down to earth now and moving closer to my initial opinion that it isnt going to be beneficial long term or even short term.
We are still a bottom dweller and I always believe that action speaks louder than words. Kg plays hard but he is only on the court half the game and in street clothes in more nights than he is in uniform. He might be our starting pf next season as well making at least 5million to play half the games.(kg wont play for the minimum and wont take a bench role). I just feel we are too fragile of a team right now with kg being a part timer, pek being unhealthy, martin an injury waiting to happen and rubio hurting his ankle again. Im not sure how kg actually helps us right now or even in the future if he is going to take up a starting spot for half the season.

I'm wiling to let this season slide in general, aside from a couple questionable moves.
I hope we have some clarity going into next season, kg's role, our frontcourt, lavines role, our coaching situation, getting better trainers, etc. etc.

I can't quantify it, because it depends on whether KG is on the court or on the bench. Look at the difference between the Portland win (the last game KG played) and the last couple losses...night and day. There was a KG effect in the first couple games even when he didn't play, but that was not sustainable. Now, when Flip sits him, I would say there is a KG effect of negative 8. When KG plays, his mentorship is a plus 8.

So, LST, let me get this correctly. You said it's a -8 when he sits and a +8 when he plays. You believe there's a 16-point change from when KG's playing to not playing? Are you kidding me??

Other. The player in question isn't on the floor enough to really make a difference.

I'm in the same boat as you. I can't put too much stock into anything that happens for the rest of this year. It's basically exhibition games at this point. I"m pretty sure they won't be bringing back all these guys next year - so things might have a very different look next year. This is Flip's baby. He's making all the decisions - so hopefully he has a plan. I think he will have much more pressure to win next year to keep both jobs.

Yep. And I don't see the plan nor does it look like he's sticking to a plan. Some of his moves have been outta left field. That's my biggest issue with Flip. He's unorganized and rather sloppy since the season started.

The poll wasn't about his influence on the court. It's about this "mentoring" a lot of you talk about. It's about a game like last night where he isn't playing. Some of you have said you're happy just to have him mentoring our young players even if he isn't playing. I agree with LST, the difference comes when he's actually playing. When he sits, his value is near zero as far as I'm concerned.
