Alright. I was wrong last week. Houston is doing a 180.
To be fair, I don't think the GM has a choice at this point.

Blazers are going to be REALLY good. They did exactly what a good franchise does - addressed their weakness, which was defense. Milsap and Covington. They are absolutely going to be a team in the upper tier of the Western Conference next year. God dammit.
(by the way, couldn't we have made a competitive offer to get RoCo back?! We could really use a SF/PF that can defend and shoot!!!)

Thank goodness the Wolves traded him for restricted free agents Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez as well as the 17th overall pick. Fuck.
The Rockets got more for flipping Robert Covington than the Wolves got. The Sixers arguably got more for Jimmy Butler than what the Wolves got. I feel compelled to look into the future and say that the Cavs will likely get more for Kevin Love than what the Wolves got. Am I missing anyone in recent memory?

It was definitely rough reading this one on the timeline. The cost of shifting around the furniture mid-season was steep for Rosas.

What annoys me is that Robert Covington is
exactly the kind of player we need to surround Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell with... and Gersson Rosas moved him for entirely replaceable parts. If Rosas felt like Malik Beasley and/or Juan Hernangomez were diamonds in the rough, so to speak, then he could have waited to pursue them in free agency. We can reasonably assume that the Nuggets wouldn't have matched any offer sheets for those two. As it looks now Minnesota might come away with only this 17th overall pick barring it being used in a trade for Aaron Gordon.

The last time i recall seeing a favorable trade for the Wolves was when David Kahn traded Randy Foye for the #6 pick. Of course, he then botched the draft.
