With Wiggins looking less and less like a viable part of the future here it looks like a couple of guys might be available in the draft to replace him. Anyone have some insight on these two guys?

Any chance Ja Morant might fall into our laps?

The answer is none of the above. If anyone outside the top 3 becomes anything all-star caliber or better it's gonna be a diamond in the rough from an evaluation perspective. The one guy I would want to fall that probably won't would be Cam Reddish. The guy can flat out shoot it and at 6'8 he's a tough guy to close out on. That's gonna translate to the next level at a minimum and he could have more to offer.

I also love the pre-season version of Reddish. Seems perfect for what we want. But in an offense where he gets a ton of open looks, he is only making 34.8% from college 3. To put in perspective the HUGE knock on Barrett thus far is that he is considered a poor 3 point shooter....and he is only 1% point behind Reddish. And Barrett also shoulders a bigger load.

Not saying Reddish won't get better, but his season is disappointing in my eyes. I fully expected a high volume, and highly efficient shooter....especially in that offense.

Oof. I'll just say that there's a handful of other attractive wing prospects that will be available around 10 that we wouldn't be upset with.

Edit: Kris Wilkes and Keldon Johnson are "sleeper" guys to watch.

Do you like their potential over the guys I've mentioned? You certainly have a better grasp on these prospects.

I think the issue is two-fold. Morant is a pipedream, as I feel he will be top 3-4. He is that good. And Little and Langford are pedestrian long range shooters. I think everyone realizes we need someone that can shoot 3's, and both of those guys are very poor 3 point shooters. Both certainly have some potential as overall players, but they are not 3 point threats.....thus the rub.

All that being said, I think both those players will need to be evaluated, as they should be picked around our position. Maybe they take a chance on a guy like Bol-Bol (I predict Bol-Bol becomes the most devisive prospect on this forum). It does look underwhelming at that 10-12 spot today. Could change by year end.

If I had the choice of anyone in this draft, I'd take Morant. Unfortunately, there's no way he falls below #3. Most likely he gets taken #2.

I'm not interested in a wing who shoots 34% from behind the college arc and I don't see anything else in Reddish's game that excites me. But I guess if he falls to #11-13 where the Wolves will likely draft, then he might be the right pick depending on who else is available.

Keldon Johnson intrigues me, but I'm not sure he'll be available when the Wolves pick.

Strengths
- Outstanding size, length and fluidity for a wing prospect. Glides to the rim. Excellent frame with considerable room to fill out.
- Versatile offensive attack. Smooth ball handler who can create offense out of pick-and-roll or isolation. Strong vision for a wing. Can play off hang dribbles. Capable standstill shooter with time and space. Has the most natural talent of any player in the draft.
- Effort needs to improve but has the tools of a versatile defender.

Improvement areas
- Goes through the motions at times. Extremely inconsistent overall. Too willing to settle for contested jumpers. Struggles to play through contact. Willing to blend in. Confidence fluctuates.
- Not a consistent defender. Effort fluctuates. Shies away from physicality on that end.
- Flat-footed perimeter jumper. Can stand to speed up his release. Career 30 percent 3-point shooter on 260 attempts, according to our database.

Don't know who we will pick but if we get that Miami 2nd rounder i'm willing to bet we redo the tyus trade and trade 2 2nds for tre jones

Lol. Well, we will get Miami's second rounder because it's unprotected. But we've traded our own 2019 second rounder. So we'll only have one 2nd round pick in June. That means no Jones reprise.
