Game Report - Wolves v. Bucks

I don't have much to say about this one. Rose, Taj and Okogie provided some energy, but otherwise, the entire Wolves team was lifeless. And even Okogie started to look like he was becoming infected with the Wolves lethargy disease. The Bucks rookie looked much better than Okogie, but sadly also looked better than nearly all our veterans including Butler. I could see this one coming watching the Wolves in shoot-around. Every player's face, I mean everyone's, looked glum and lifeless. No smiles or joy, but also not intensity. It was just a look of blah.

Of course, the Wolves won't lose the rest of their games by 30 points. They will play better and win games. But this is a bad team. All our players have flaws no doubt, but this team is underachieving given the talent they have. Tonight's game should remind all of us of what we should already know - things have to change from the top down in this organization as follows: (1) Thibodeau needs to be replaced, (2) Butler needs to be traded and then (3) a serious evaluation of our remaining players needs to be made. This can't go on.

The Bucks and Raptors are probably top 3 seeds in the East. Losing to them doesn't make you bad. If we do this against teams on our level then we should start to panic.

We lost by 30 points at home to a team that hasn't won a playoff series in decades. It's past the time to panic.

Kahns - It's not the fact that we lost to the Bucks. It's the fact that we lost to them by 30 points at home and it's the way we played start to finish in that losing "effort." That's the concern. This isn't panic in my case. I've been calling for Thibodeau's firing for over a year because he's a bad head coach for this era and this team in addition to having no prior experience as a basketball executive. If I'm panicking, I've been panicking for over a year and this game is just another among many reminders that this organization has serious problems that need to be remedied - starting with the termination of Thibodeau.

Thanks for the sympathy, Cool. I started out angry, but at some point during the game I just sat back in a lifeless state of calm -- sort of like the Wolves players. There's a very bad vibe on this team. I can see it in shoot-around and on the bench as well as on the court. The team was playing hard before tonight, but I knew that wouldn't last.

Trade best player. Fire coach. Repeat again in 3 years. Repeat.

Lol. That's the cycle. I just wish we could go back to the time before Butler and before Love when our best player asked NOT to be traded rather than the other way around. :).

How was the bench interaction?

Was kat sitting by himself?
Jimmy talking to anyone?
Wiggins in street clothes and not involved?

I saw KAT putting his arm around Okogie and patting him on the chest. Otherwise, he looked glum and didn't talk much to anyone. Butler wasn't talking to anyone. Teague was yelling at teammates while he was playing. He seemed generally pissed, but we couldn't figure out exactly what he was pissed about. He played as horribly as anyone else on the team. Wiggins wasn't involved at all.
