Lots of twitter chatter about this one. Too biased against management IMO.

It's biased against management definitely. But management has warranted bias for a long time. Taylor needs to shut up. He's acting like giving up on the franchise after Garnett left never happened. He was asleep at the wheel until Flip came back. And now he's fighting for the everyman by "calling out" Wiggins when there is really nothing to gain from doing it publicly.

I agree completely, Doper. My initial reaction to what Taylor said was that it was ridiculous to do so publicly with no upside and potential downside by pissing off Andrew. The article was a bit over-the-top and was just plain wrong is claiming that Butler is a poor passer. But I agreed with a lot of points in the article about Taylor's multiple, and in some cases unprecedented, failures as an NBA owner. And the article didn't even mention hiring David Kahn. I agree with the article's author that giving Thibs the dual role of PBO and head coach was a mistake - that is, unless Taylor asserts himself and reins in some of Thibs' excess -- something that would be far more productive than meaningless and potentially inflammatory public posturing regarding Wiggins. Unfortunately, I don't see Taylor doing that, which is So you're right. Taylor just needs to shut up -- and hopefully make consistently good decisions while avoiding blunders.

Taylor should never have said that publicly, but Deadspin is ridiculous. Those guys take positions more extreme than Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless, but they pass it off casually like it's obvious to everyone and anyone who doesn't agree is a total idiot. It's lazy sports elitism espoused by people who don't know any better. I'd rather have the thoughtful contributions of most guys on this board than the casual insanity of Deadspin. Ignore them. The comments on this thread (including the critiques we've all leveled against our own organization) are more critical but constructive, passionate but thoughtful than anything you will ever read on Deadspin. They're cheap clickbait peddlers. This board is real discussion by real fans.

I can see Wiggins getting a little tired of the criticism he's received at the ripe age of 22. Scoring over 23 points per game while logging the most minutes, hek every player his age should have done that by now. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he's starting to think this isn't the best place for him. And as we've seen it isn't hard to force your way out of a city. Just a couple of well timed comments to the media while simultaneously going to management and requesting a trade might be enough. I'm starting to sense things don't end well for Wig in Minnesota.

I've been critical of Wiggins, but I agree that we all need some perspective. He scoring and durability at his young are impressive. His improved 3-point shooting last season was a very positive sign. Do I think Andrew will become the superstar he's physically capable of becoming and lead this team into championship contention? No, i don't. But with Towns and Butler on this team, he doesn't have to. If he continues his scoring a durability while also continuing to improve his 3-point shooting and overall scoring efficiency, I'll be happy. I'm also convinced his defense will improve significantly in the coming years. And I also think his rebounding will improve a bit too.

I still think Wiggins will sign the 5-year max before the season starts - in spite of Glen's silly public call for Wiggins to tell him he's committed to improving. But I'm starting worry just a bit like you, Cool, that things may not end well.

The only real new info is Wiggins changing agents. Why? It seems people are miffed about that. Will we find out why he changed? Maybe until then I don't know if there is a whole lot to be gathered from that. Other than that there isn't much about Wiggins, Glen, the extension that hasn't been covered on this forum already. From what I have heard/read the article isn't worth clicking on so I haven't. Most likely Wiggins is gonna sign his $148 million 5 year deal chat with Glen and things carry on. My guess is Thibs and Wiggins are on the same page and that's more what matters.

Not sure who's miffed about Wiggins changing agents -- except of course for Bill Duffy. :) Seriously, I think you're right that Wiggins will sign the deal after a meaningless chat with Glen. I think you nailed it saying that Wiggins and Thibs are on the same page. And as you mentioned, that's what matters the most.

You should, however, read the article. As I indicated, it's over the top, but makes some good points about Glen Taylor and this franchise.

Jon K basically said various people including some people within the Wolves organization are miffed about him changing agents so that's mostly what I was referring to.
