Injuries around the League continue to mount. Porzingis is out with an ankle sprain and his teammate Tim Hardaway Jr. is out with a stress condition in his shin. Anthony Davis was carried off the court last night with what's been termed a groin injury. K. Leonard remains out with no word on a date for his return and tonight his teammate Anderson went down with an ankle injury. Cleveland's Schumpert is out injured for an extended period. The Clippers' Griffin and Galo remain out with injuries. The list goes on.
I don't know if things are worse than they used to be. But I'm just thankful the Wolves have remained relatively healthy. Teague missed a few games with some Achilles soreness, but he's back. Otherwise, Belly remains the only injury casualty on the Wolves and he's expected back sometime soon. It doesn't matter how good you are if you can't be counted on to play. It's typically the same players who go down periodically with one thing or another. Anthony Davis is a good example of that sort of player. Gallo and Griffin are a couple others. On the flip side are players like LeBron who rarely miss games due to injury. Other examples of iron man stars over the years include Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Hakeem, Magic Johnson, among others
So far, the Wolves appear to have a number of iron men among their core players, including Wiggins, KAT, Gorgui and Tyus. Teague has also been pretty durable throughout his career to date. These guys all have their flaws, but you can count on all of them to be ready to take the court nearly every game.
