maybe his big ass clown feet help him not get injured? I do worry with how ferocious he is driving to the hoop

Yeah I'm not a big fan of all the whacky tumbles he ends up taking. It does worry me and that was before Lavine got hurt.

I just don't think there's a ton you can do to prevent knee injuries. They just pop with the slightest bit too much pressure. Zach weighs nothing and his still popped. You either have good knees and luck on your side or you have bad knees or bad luck.

I don't think the long term outlook for this guy is very good.

I was thinking about this the other day. I think the Wolves should trade Towns now to avoid heartache when he inevitably gets hurt. Maybe we can get a couple of super promising draft picks for him.

I was referring to Embiid

He is done for the season now. It's a shame.
Kings fans will find a positive as it will likely help them have a higher pick.

Sucks about Embid. He is becoming Greg Oden 2.0.

They're still multiple pieces away from the playoffs. Theyre playing it safe on One of the potebtial pieces in Simmons, so why not take the chance to shut down embiid too? If the kings - pelicans trade didn't happen then I don't see the 76ers making these moves. They have 2 legitimate chances at the #1 pick. Plus a possible #4-#9 pick from the Lakers. This is the perfect last tank for them.

here is a timeline of the sixers medical staff certainly not helping
(Jan 21): Embiid hyperextends his knee against the Blazers, goes to the locker room, is cleared to return, gets hurt again and finally sits out the rest of the game. After the game, Embiid says:
The knee is fine. I had an MRI.
Embiid misses Clippers and Bucks games because of a knee injury
(Jan 27): Embiid returns and plays 28 minutes against the Rockets
Embiid revealed postgame his hyperextended knee is actually a bone bruise, which takes 2-3 weeks to fully heal, but for somehow he still played a game with that injury (later Colangelo explained he was asymptomatic)
after all that, Sixers say he is day-to-day while recovering from the bone bruise
(Feb 11) Derek Bodner reports that Embiid also has a minor tear in the meniscus, detected on the MRI on Jan 20 with the bone bruise
same day: Colangelo on Embiid meniscus:
It was not thought to be acute & it was not thought to be the source of the pain, inflammation or symptoms
while all this is going on, Embiid is practicing and the Sixers are monitoring his knee, waiting for it to be asymptotic
(Feb 23) Sixers announce they are targeting March 3 vs. Knicks for Embiid's return
(Mar 2) quote from press release:
The assessment of Monday's follow-up MRI of Joel Embiid's left knee appears to reveal that the area affected by the bone bruise has improved significantly, while the previously identified meniscus tear appears more pronounced in this most recent scan
what a fucking disaster
