Trade market and trade hype thread

Supposedly the Wolves are offering Bazz and Rubio for another starting level guard. I'd guess they are asking for a pretty decent player in return hoping someone bites.

Thinking about this more (I see Cam posted in the around the league thread at the same time) what kinda makes me laugh is that the guy the report describes...could be Rubio himself a bridge guard. I'm sure they are looking for a guy that can shoot or at least score but I don't know who they could be targeting (Collision is a FA after this year right?) in this trade that much better than someone they could just sign in a few months in the offseason.

I can't think of one team that would trade anything of value for Rubio, especially with this draft coming up. We'll see though.

That's a good point. There are those team out there at times that want to win sooner than later instead of drafting a guy but I don't see anyone looking for that right now by acquiring Rubio.

After seeing Jon K's tweets after this news it seems again like much ado about nothing...again. My guess is the Wolves are looking for an upgrade and teams are trying to get Rubio for maybe a decent bench player or 2. Both sides are doing their jobs seeing what might happen.

I would expect Rubio / Bazz to return little or nothing in a trade - sure as hell it will not be an all star... Why make a bad trade just to make a trade? For the life of me I don't see the issue with sticking with the roster we have, at least until the off season. I'm fine with giving Dunn more minutes but why does that require dumping Rubio? When Dunn is ready to start move Ricky to the bench. if he pouts play Tyus instead and then dump Rubio.

Maybe Rubio is saying the right things publicly but behind the scenes he sees the writing on the wall and has asked for a trade if one can be arranged. I can also see Pork's point with Rubio, how much better everything flows offensively on those rare occasions when he's making shots versus the majority of the time he stands wide open because they don't fear him and would rather double someone else or pack the paint. I like Rubio but won't be upset to see him go if the return is decent enough.

The Wolves aren't looking to just dump Rubio and according to Jon K he thinks Rubio may want to be here.

"Before Wolves left for the road, Rubio was very encouraged by what he was seeing. My take: he wants to stay. But we'll see what happens"

The Wolves are looking to get better. I'm sure other teams are calling trying to do the same. I think the significance of what Woj said is that if they deal Rubio they want to get a guard that can hold the fort for a while back. Shocking isn't it? If you want to get better you have to give up something and Bazz answer Rubio are about the only thing of value that they are probably realistically looking to move unless someone really blows them away with an offer then they might be willing to move...Dieng. Lol

Keep an eye on this Carmelo Anthony situation. If the Knicks -- Phil Jackson -- are able to work out a deal with the Clippers, I'd hope Thibs is one of the first to make an offer for Courtney Lee. Bargain contract. Very good role player on both ends. New York would have little reason to keep him or Joakim Noah.

I would put Wiggins on that tradable asset list. His value going down in my opinion...

You want the guy that got benched in favor of Ron Baker? :)

Melo says he wants to stay in NY. I've been hearing for years that's where he wants to play. I'll be a little surprised if he is moved but your thought of him going to the Clippers makes some sense although I don't know what the Clippers are really going to give up to get Melo.
