Antoine Winfield's stay in Seattle will apparently be a short one.
Winfield, the cornerback who signed a free-agent contract with the Seahawks in April, won't make the Seahawks' 53-man roster, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS.
According to the report, there's a chance the Seahawks could trade Winfield to one of the other teams that were interested in signing him this offseason (including Washington and Minnesota), but if a trade can't get done, Winfield will be released.
Winfield is a three-time Pro Bowler who was a starter for the Vikings last season, but he's also 36 years old, which is over the hill by the standards of NFL cornerbacks, and he was due to make $3 million this season. The Seahawks have apparently decided to go younger and cheaper for their secondary depth.
