The Denver Nuggets have signed Robbie Hummel. 2 years partially guaranteed.
The first blemish on Thibs CV as Wolves POB. ;-)

Good for Robbie. It's funny in a way how the guy is better than a few guys that were on the Wolves that were picked so much higher than him in whatever draft they were taken.

I thought you were going to say Bradford blew his knee out climbing stairs. We have been a little preoccupied with the travails of our football team, Kiwi. But thanks for the update.

Yeah, when I saw Bad News I immediately thought of knees and knuckle push ups.

Football? Oh is that the game you guys watch that's like a prolonged bastardized version of rugby where infomercials get more air time than the actual game itself?

Yes, that's it.

After watching some rugby last year and trying to understand it I always try and look at sports I understand differently. I try and see what would seem sort of ridiculous to someone that didn't know that sport like I do when I watch something like rugby or cricket because I just don't know how that sport is played.
For example Major league baseball is a weird sport. Every ballpark has different dimensions. There are 2 different leagues with significant rule differences (DH and pitchers hitting). If you think about that it's really kinda bizarre.

Ha, good one Kiwi. I had a long conversation last night about the relative merits of rugby and American football with a South African rugby-playing friend. He asked why our sport was called football here, since the foot is such a minor part of the game. I couldn't answer that one for him, and even in internet search yielded no results. Anyone?
I asked him why more rugby players don't get hurt given the relative lack of protection they wear, and he gave me an answer that made sense to me. He said the big difference in tackling between the two sports was that in football, because of the requirement to move 10 yards in four downs, the goal of the tackle is to stop the runner in his tracks to prevent him from even getting another inch. There is no such need in rugby, where the only requirement is that you get the ball carrier down...not down in his tracks. Hence the tackling process in football is necessarily more violent.
Make sense, Kiwi?

Apparently rugby is the fasted growing team sport in the USA. If any one is in the Chicago area during November I recommend you go watch the All Blacks vs Ireland game at Soldier Field or the All Blacks Maori vs USA Eagles game. Your South African friend explained it well LST. American Football is a more explosive sport with short intervals between plays. Rugby is more about fitness and durability, going at it for 80 mins with no timeouts and only a break at half time. Both games are contested inch by inch (or centimetre by centimetre where I come from), but kicking is utilised a lot more in rugby.
Anyways back on subject of bad news, fan favourite (among some on this board) Jeff Adrien has been arrested for stealing a car from a hotel valet. Kids don't smoke crack.....

That Jeff Adrien stuff is old news (I did look it up and he got a plea deal) and he got arrested a couple months after that also. He is signing a deal with a team in Israel so he is doing alright I guess.
In some other good (but still kinda bad) news the Vikings aren't #1 in arrests for players the last decade now.
