Ha, I agree, that does seem like a little much.
And dammit, I might just have to get Sling now this winter since none of those freakin' games will be shown on my NBA Broadband package.

That bugs me and was a reason I didn't feel all that bad about when I bought Ball Streams for a year. I pay the money to NBA broadband to see the games except...no I don't get to watch all of them.

That's like staying at the Four Seasons when all I need is a bed and running water. I really don't watch much TV except for sports, so I'm not going to go all in on satellite or cable package when I can patch together something like NBA Broadband and Sling to get what I need.
Ironically, Dish Network owns Sling TV. It's their hedge against "cord cutters" - folks like me that don't have full service cable or satellite video packages.

I pay a ridiculous amount for my Direct TV package, but I'd be lost without it. I buy the NBA, NFL, and NHL packages. I don't do much with movie channels but I do have several other premium channels. In the winter my monthly bill approaches $300. All this entertainment is wonderfully displayed on a 65" 4K smart TV that upscales. Can't wait for the 4k content to become more in vogue. Smartly I have the genie package allowing me to record up to 5 shows at a time, and have strategically provided my wife with a 46" HDTV in another room. Hek, I go weeks without having to share more than a passing glance with her (hahahaha)

So when are you having us over to watch the games? Lol
I'm cheap and thankfully so is my wife. For NFL if I really want to watch the Vikings game I have a friend that loves having people over. The problem is the college kids that sometimes are there too. Their hot takes get old pretty quick and my friend has gotten into going to estate auctions and reselling stuff so often he isnt even there. It's got to the place I would rather just watch the game at home. I'm not going to follow football as closely anymore so I'm really sort of moving towards basketball as my main sport that I follow. I did pay a few bucks for the MLB online package and it's easily worth it so I'll probably get into MLB more.
I do tend to look at my online online viewing dollars differently than I used to though. I figure how many times would I watch it and compare that to going to even a cheap college game etc. it tends to look like a bargain and while obviously going to a game is more of an experience you do have to get there and get back home even if that's pretty easy for me since I live close to downtown at least for now. Sometimes it's really nice to just watch stuff at home possibly with your own snacks being comfy often with cats. So really your cable bill of you really enjoy it and get lots of use out of it makes complete sense to me. It's coming up on time to get as my wife says "a tv shaped like a rectangle" lol.

Perfect. 19 trips to the bar sounds like an affordable season plan.

Nice. Will be fun to see the Wolves out of the house this year.
