See, this is where MIN not being run by top-flight people really hurts.
A real GM would have BlondeRicky, KAT, and Wiggins in a room and asking them if they would welcome Russell into the "clubhouse". If the answer is yes (and it might be), you make an offer. This was the 2nd pick in the draft, and some team is going end up with him for peanuts.
And I love how BSPN is like "Well, he's not having a great rookie year because he is only averaging 3.5 APG." Well, when Beatrix Kiddo is going 1 for 15 and your next best option is "Swaggy P", it's kinda hard to get assists.

Weird. I only skimmed the story, but I'm not sure I understand....he was secretly trying to get a teammate admitting to banging other chicks on tape? I mean, I could see why Joe Average might do that (money). But I wouldn't think that would be a problem for a lotto pick. So what's his angle for doing that?

He's probably been flirting with Iggy Azalea.

I'm am amazed how much heat Russell has been getting. I mean in ESPN ask they have talked about is breaking the bro code. What Russell did was not right, but Nick Young cheated and there is no talk about him at all. Society is a funny thing

Agree. This really exposes some hypocrisy. I get that Russell's actions are more newsworthy because it's a player violating another player's trust, as opposed to a player violating his finance's trust. And this is a REALLY bad move from a guy who's supposed to be the future PG for that franchise, but it's still telling HOW strongly people have reacted.
Stephen A. Smith just defended keeping bad behavior on the road a secret, implicitly defending that bad behavior itself. And many of the same journalists who have downplayed the seriousness of domestic abuse charges against other players have gone nuclear against Russell.
What the kid did was wrong, but the reaction feels like it is exposing some priorities that need to be straightened out.

Stephen A. Smith's misogynistic takes are well documented at this point.
I think the public is used to cheating among athletes/celebrities/random people. (sadly) But the Russell angle is the anomaly here. That's why it's getting attention. That's not to say it's right... only why it's newsworthy, it's so rare.

Man, I am not sure there is another person I HATE more than Stephan A Smith. How that guy still is employed is beyond me. Like others have mentioned, no one cares that Nick Young has probably violated his soon to be wife on an unknown number of situations (probably dozens) by cheating, lying, etc. The only concern here is how it got out?
Wait, I also HATE Swaggy P as well, so maybe this just feels like a great case of Karma to me. Just needed to get that out there.
And the alienation by everyone around Russell quietly announces that many of those other guys are probably carrying around the same lies and lifestyle. Am I surprised? Not in the least. But I love to see a guy like Swaggy P burn a bit for something so stupid. If he is going to be a complete jackass, you better be quiet about it.
I have no issues with Russell for this incident, and would do the Lakers a favor and take him off their hands.
