Dubljevic's contract runs out in June and we need to bring him over. He's the team's leading scorer and shooting over 40% on 3s. Here's a link to his stats for the year: http://basketball.realgm.com/international/league/2/Eurocup/team/56/Valencia-Basket/stats

He's also 6'7 242 according to that site so where does be play? He's not a rebounder so it'd be tough to play him at the 4 and he's too big to be a 3 and be able to defend other SF's. We don't have space for all these guys to try to develop here at once. If people think he's better than Belly bring him over and deal Belly, but if not trade him for a different stash. We have a top 10 pick. We don't need two rookies next year fighting for playing time which is really development time and not much in terms of helping the team actually win games time as rookies. We have our core. We have some nice secondary pieces who are developing. We have a top 10 pick. Now we need to surround them with guys who know how to play basketball at this level and not keep adding multiple new NBA guys every year. Martin and Payne need to go and they need to be replaced by two guys in the prime of their careers who can play around our young core.
Ricky/*(maybe Tyus)
Lavine/*
Wiggins/Bazz
Dieng/NB
Towns/*
The 3 *'s are what need to be filled and we may have too many guys in certain spots depending on who we draft. Frankly the whole second unit could use an upgrade if available to better fit around the starters. I just don't see room for us to be able to make a playoff push next year and try to give two rookies decent playing time. We need guys in their primes who can fit around that team and help it become a winner.

that height is wrong .. his predraft measurements were 6'9 barefoot, 7'1 wingspan, and 9'0 standing reach, which is pretty much exactly average NBA PF size .. he is not athletic but very skilled, K.Love type if you will
and rebounding is decent, about 12 boards per 36 minutes in ACB and 8 per 36 minutes in Euroleague, he has good knack for where the ball will bounce

Belly is 6'10 240 as well and came into the league as a pretty good shooter and people thought he was an ok rebounding prospect. Basically we don't need 2 Belly's on the team next year. Figure out which one is better and move on from the other one. The last thing we can really afford is them both being on the team and struggling like Belly has this year because that's 2 guys you can't play on likely 2 and 3 year deals that can't be moved. We can take the risk on one, but taking it on two doesn't seem likely to provide the reward people are hoping for and it takes up 2 roster spots that could be going to guys who can help our young core now. Shved didn't work out. Belly has a ways to go before he's an acceptable NBA bench player. We need to stop thinking of these guys as the 40% shooters who get 12 rebounds per 36 minutes in Europe and start thinking of them as projects who will likely shoot 36% in the NBA, only get 6.5 boards per 36 and have a lot of trouble defending because we have significantly better athletes they have to go up against on a nightly basis.

I'd rather have Bjelica and Dubljevic than Bjelica and Rudez. There is room for both players. Minutes will be earned by someone. Assemble the best roster possible and go from there.

Yeah, Bjelly has really disappointed after a very promising start. I still have hope for the guy, but I think the refs sucked the life force out of him when they called him for a foul every time he breathed on someone. Hopefully he comes into camp next season with more confidence.
I'm all for bringing Dubljevic over if we can sign him to a reasonable deal. I think he's put on weight since some of those initial measurements because in recent highlights, he looks pretty damn stout to me and capable of playing inside-out (whereas Bjelly is more of a pure perimeter threat). He's also a few years younger than Bjelly.

That typically doesn't involve adding European rookies.
Yes we'll have a roster spot for him, but how would he develop from the bench if he can't beat out our other players for playing time which is already hard enough to do as a rookie? I've never believed guys can just develop with no actual playing time in the NBA and then you're playing a guy who is likely worse than the other options we could get this summer with the hopes he becomes better than your traditional average NBA backup big. It's low risk, low reward in my opinion and when it doesn't work it just ends up as a wasted try like it was with Shved. What if Shved would have been replaced by a more proven NBA player? Maybe that bench doesn't end up being so terrible all the time and we win a couple more games and make the playoffs. If we're gonna gamble I think we should be aiming higher than just a different name to the same player we already have.

Khans, I honestly can't remember the last year that we had enough depth of bench bigs, to the point where guys were just withering away on the bench. Injuries with bigs is a chronic and constant problem in the NBA. I have no doubt he'd get his chance to play. Hell, he'd be playing right now if he were on our roster, most likely the first big off the bench!

We got plenty of room at the Inn for this guy if we can sign him to a reasonable contract. Nearly half the team is very dispensable and we would only have one draft pick if Houston misses the playoffs.

...and he'd likely be playing at Belly's level which currently isn't good. Is he a body or a player because bodies are cheaper and on shorter deals than what he's gonna cost to bring over? Payne is a body who's cheaper. We need someone who's going to be better than what Belly is giving us now so I find it hard to believe a slightly different Euro rookie is that guy.
