Andre Miller on the Wolves.

On a Yahoo podcast today.

Wolves related: Says the young guys try hard. Even in practice. But they're in a no-win situation in games where veterans eat them up. Says the young guys need a mix of vets to show them their way.

Obviously, we've discussed this before. Interesting to hear it from a player's perspective though. And, there's still room for how much of a veteran presence is needed for these guys.

[note: he says there's also politics involved that limits how much the vets can influence the young kids because of coaching/management. no idea if he was referring to the wolves, sacramento, denver, philly, et al.]

I saw a tweet with a quote that drew me in to listen to listening to this. The link is below of you are interested in listening to it yourself. I don't really have any significant thoughts after listening to it.

Yeah, that's funny, Monster. I had to sort of force an angle out of that podcast. For a guy in the league for as long as he's been... Miller wasn't exactly in tattletale mode. He was very measured to blanket any criticisms to avoid scorn.

If you think about it, he comes across a lot like his game. Pretty unassuming (right down to playing pickup at the Y when he arrived in town) but generally pretty effective.

I agree with what you said Miller don't say anything that crazy which makes the quote in the tweet I read annoying because how out of context it was.

I was thinking a bit more about this spot with Miller and it really hit me how much players really do seem to believe in themselves and how they can get it done. Miller said how you need to keep guys together and thought at least on of his stops had the guys they just needed to be together etc. just a few days ago Beas was led into talking about that team he was on and he said they should have stayed together it could have been special etc. 2 guys on the opposite end of the spectrum saying the same thing. So I take out of this keeping guys together in some reasonable fashion. It does make me want to see the Wolves try and keep a replaceable player or 2 from the guys they have maybe a guy like Rudez and especially Prince because a revolving door of players doesn't seem to be the way to go.
