Well I watched this game while watching the Michigan ND game. And here are some thoughts.

It was a fun game this team is playing ball the Wolves never really got close but they made it interesting at the end.

If Beverly would have been healthy all year and they would have played him I bet the season would have been much different. He was terrific in this game and combined with the Rockets game plan he really hounded Rubio. When he hits a bunch of 3's...well that's a big bonus for Houston

Beasley sure can fill it up still.

Lavine was really doing a pretty good job on Harden a lot of the game. Harden still got his etc but Lavine had plenty of good moments and some shots harden hit were typical shots he makes when guys are all over him. Lavine was pretty quiet but late but some 3's and had a nice pass to help make a run at the end. His progress this year has been terrific.

Towns I think has gotten better at being stronger snatching the ball out of the air. Jim raves about his hands but I do think the has gotten stronger in that area as the season has gone on.

Wiggins had a drive with just under 6 mins left in the game that was just wow he made it look so easy as laid it in. It's still not a strength but Wiggins passing has improved this year.

The Wolves defense still sucks but at least they seems to be getting better on the simple concepts of rotation on defense. As the game goes on I think teams find ways to beat them but I see the players have more of a clue of what they are doing. Guys are jumping passing lanes and getting way steals even Bazz has done that once in each of the last 2 games. Speaking of Bazz he had a couple nice creative plays where he set up guys.

Bottom line is the Wolves were competitive the whole game against a playoff bound team with 2 former MVPs and a number of productive vet players. The Wolves are playing 4 guys 21 or under significant minutes. The idea they could make an OKC like jump is not out of the question. They need more talent and depth but there are some good signs of how these guys play and compete. Not that you want to keep them around but Payne and Smith were actually far from worthless tonight. It just shows how a team that knows what they are doing can get something out of players and it also showed if guys that can come off the bench and not be trash can really help the team.

Thanks monster. Good rundown. The post count of zero in a game day thread may have been a record today
