Next 2 Games

The next two games offer the Wolves a great opportunity to get back to .500. They play the Pistons at Detroit on Tuesday and return home to play the Sixers the next night. If the Wolves are serious about contending for a Western Conference playoff seed, then these are two games they have to win.
It's true that the season has a long way to go. But 25% of the schedule has already been played and the Wolves have to climb over five teams to land the last playoff seed. One of the teams they have to climb over is the Lakers, who are a game-and-a-half ahead of the Wolves before the Lakers' star player, Kobe, has played a single game. He returns to action tomorrow. Memphis is another team ahead of the Wolves and they've been forced to adjust to a new coach and have played with last few games without their all-star caliber center, Marc Gasol. I would expect both the Lakers and Grizzlies to get significantly better as the season wears on. At the same time, only of the current top 8 in the West can be realistically viewed as teams that might drop out of the top 8. They are Dallas and Denver. But Denver in particular has shown they're a pretty good team and they certainly looked much better than the Wolves at Target Center last week.
So come on Wolves. Let's win these next two and start playing like a team with playoff potential.
