With stats like this
MPG PPG PER FG% 3PT% RPG
16 10 21.2 .544% .429% 4
maybe we were wrong to let him go..
I want Micheal Beasley back!
(My computer doesn't have the squiggly line to indicate sarcasm....otherwise I would be using it here.)

Yeah, I've been watching him on League Pass (or checking box scores), and he is playing well. I think he has found the perfect situation...a team that doesn't need him to carry them or even start, but for whom he can provide good production on those nights he is on. And when he's not, like last night, he gets the hook. I watched some of their game last night, and Beas was playing the Ronny Turiaf role...dancing and cheering as his teammates finished an impressive comeback. But in the ten games before that, he has put up some very impressive numbers in about 20 minutes a game off the bench.
I expect this will be controversial, but I can think of another team he would look good on right now. A team with a very good starting five, but lacking in scoring punch off the bench. How much better would the Wolves be if they had a small forward giving them .75 points a minute with great efficiency plus rebounding in 20 minutes off the bench? But it would never work with Adelman. Adelman is a traditionalist, and if a guy doesn't play the way he wants him to, it's not going to work...and I find fault with his lack of flexibility. I know this is a minority opinion, but I would love to see Beasley coming off the bench for the Wolves right now.

Might be a minority opinion, but it is a logical one Long!
It is pretty clear, that Beasley needed to hit rock bottom in the league to start figuring things out.

You're right, sjm, because he was terrible with Phoenix last year. He still isn't playing much defense with Miami, but his poor defense doesn't allow the other team to score as much as he is, so it's working out well for Miami.
I was on board with letting him go, because it was clear that he was not an Adelman guy and I had some concerns about what kind of role model he would be for our young players (primarily Williams). The first concern is still valid, but I think the second one is not. Young NBA players want to be stars, and they are going to model themselves after the starters who are making the big money. And that is not Beasley. By all reports, Beas was a popular teammate...certainly immature, but not a cancer. I really don't think there have been any young players who have said to themselves: "I want to have a career just like Beasley's so I'm going to do exactly what he does". I think Adelman is not blameless for Beasley's lack of success here.

In an article I read it sounds like Beas is putting forth effort on D. Here is the thing with Beas. We have seen this before with Beas is he has a couple good months then he tweaks something and sucks for a few weeks or whatever. Miami is a perfect situation for him. The guy gets to play with a gaggle of HOFers and a coach that has won a championship and around people that know him. Expectations are low. He also plays with guys like Wade and Lebron that are willing passers and Beas shown ability to hit open shots. Beas has talent he just can't seem to do anything with it longer than a couple months at a time. No way he keeps up playing that well all year although he played a somewhat similar bench role for Adelman his last few months here. I am not saying he will revert to being worthless, but I am going to stay somewhat skeptical.
To think he could be successful here and we should have kept him...like I said Miami is a great landing spot vet team coach can be benched for 5 games nobody is gonna really care. I don't think our situation here would have worked anywhere near as good as Miami. For the record Beas is more talented than Williams in every way I can think of except Williams is a more consistent man defender. Thats pretty much it. Williams hasn't done anything stupid to get in trouble with the law and doesn't seem like that type of guy. He has that going for him. They are oddly similar but different players and its really hard not to compare them to each other.

Beasley is incredibly talented player, problem with him is his maturity level, if there is perfect spot for him now it is Miami, but i don't want to even guess what he is going to do if he gets multi-year multi-million dollar deal again and feel comfortable again .. maybe some joking, karaoke, smoking some weed, having fun with cameras etc.
i am definitely not blaming Adelman for anything, when Beasley was here, he was completely not coachable
