We are stuck

I love this team even though they are frustrating, but it is becoming a lost cause, this team is probably going to miss the playoffs, and not have a first round pick this year (thanks Kahn, also assuming we are the best team not to make the playoffs) No cap space to work with this offseason, we have no tradable pieces besides Love and I am starting to wonder if we should look to trade him before he leaves (I think Love is a top 5 player in the NBA but it might be time). No promising rookies (I do like Deng and Shabazz, but they are not ready yet, even though I think Shabazz should get some minutes). I mean listen to yourself our savior is Chase Budinger, how sad is that, even though I like Bud. I was 12 the last time the wolves made the and honestly I don't think I will see the postseason until I will be in my late 20's early 30's. The reason I say that is Love is going to leave and we have to rebuild again, with a franchise that can't draft here have been our first round picks since I was 12

McCants, Foye, Brewer, Love, Rubio, Flynn, Ellington, Wesley Johnson, Lazar Hayward, Derrick Williams, Shabazz, and Deng.

Its hard to be in a wolves fan and I don't know what to do to make the team better. Maybe it is good I will be in South Africa for a month to get away from this team, because this is the most depressed I have been over a wolves team.

Put down the gun kekgeek... Back away from the ledge as well...

Count this as another game we should have won. A game in which Durant was walking the ball up and pulling from three with a hand in his face and finding the bottom of the net. He was hot tonight. Stupid hot, actually. Yet, we were still in good position to win. I know that sounds shitty right now, but we're in practically every game we play and there's something to be said for that. 0-9 in close games is a tough, tough pill to swallow, but can that trend honestly continue? Let's be reasonable and say no. At some point the tide has to go our way.

Budinger being the savior is a reasonable thought. People can laugh as much as they'd like due to them thinking that Bud isn't a player that takes a team to the next level. That's fine and true in most cases, but I see Bud as a 10 PPG scorer even when coming off this injury. It's a fair statement given his track record in the NBA ('09- 8.9 PPG, '10- 9.8 PPG, '11- 9.6 PPG, '12- 9.4 PPG). Just having those 10 points a night would give the Wolves a significant amount of added wins. I refuse to believe that with Bud back there'd be nights where the bench turns in 5 points in a night and they're all from one guy. Please take that into account before thinking that Bud won't help as much as some (myself included) believe.

It's still early in the season, but sometimes when a team takes on a lot of water... eventually, they sink.

As frustrating as it is for fans. The players get frustrated, too. Sometimes, they can respond in a good way. But not every team is built that way. Heck, most teams might NOT be. Be on the alert for more sniping in the media. More frustrations. Random injuries. That sort of thing.

Because the train could be derailing soon after...

[Note: At some point, the Kevin Love situation is going to take precedence. At this point, there's not nearly enough to keep him in MN. I don't think any objective person can disagree with that. The team is not good enough. And they don't have the assets to do much to change that. There's a real chance that we're looking at several more years of rebuilding... as fucking terrible and infuriating as that sounds.]

Possibly a decade. If the team is still around. Imagine this scenario...

The Wolves fall apart. Love leaves. What happens to Target Center if the team doesn't rebound quickly?

10,000 fans?
8,000 fans?

How long until the rumors of relocation begin? Milwaukee is already hearing them. And that has largely been a respectable franchise. At least a mediocre one.

The Wolves are the 2nd worst franchise in NBA history. And I believe strongly that apathy hits hard if this team returns to 60-loss seasons.

I definitely see that happening.

If I were Love I'd get out while I can. I'm really starting to think the NBA should move the Wolves somehwere else or just eliminate them completely. I love having an NBA team here and have enjoyed watching the Wolves since I was a kid, but it's never going to work here. It's small market, it's cold and they don't have a winning tradition. Players don't want to be here unless they're bums looking to collect a check. It's a glitz and glam league, which is sad, but that's the reality of it.

To be fair, there is a fanbase here. A better fanbase than lots of other cities. Do you really think too many fans in Atlanta would care if they lost a team? Or, what about if OKC suffered 1/4 of the crappy seasons MN has put up?

But, it's reasonable for fans of the Wolves to be apathetic. That doesn't mean they deserve to be without a team. Just the opposite... they deserve some semblance of a good one... occasionally.

I was having a great day until I read this thread, and it's already 7PM here...I think I'm going to stay over here in Cairo and become a big soccer fan.
