I was bored, so I decided to see what I could do to hypothetically improve the roster. The way I see it, there's two ways that it can be done. Either we have to take on players with multiple year deals to improve immediately at the cost of future cap, or pay heavily to unload salary and win in the next two seasons. Obviously I was working in the here and now, so I tried to immediately improve the team.

Add in a 2nd round pick going to both Boston and Sacramento and this could possibly work. We get back two 40% 3pt shooters, a good wing defender, and a solid defensive C.

What are your opinions on the trade? Value-wise and how it would help the team.

So, we'd be putting the entire faith of our second unit in the hands of Jimmer Fredette... I mean, a four-team trade is interesting in itself, so at least your header is accurate. Not a fan of the trade, though.

Also, I have no idea why the Mavs would move Dalembert for Barea. Makes little sense to me, if any. They have Calderon/Ellis/Harris/Mekel/Larkin that can run point guard. Ellis is already a combo guard, as is Larkin in my opinion. They're also winning games lately, so a trade like this probably isn't in their plans. Just doesn't work in their favor.

I like Courtney Lee, but I don't see us getting him now.

Think we're likely to stay put, wait for Bud and Turiaf to get back. Those are our in-season acquisitions, if you will.

Livingston and AK for JJ Barea. How's that sound guys!? Lol

Actually, I'm highly in favor of this. Throw in a second rounder if we need to.

Jimmer and Lee having to handle the ball for the second unit is the downfall of the deal, but I'm pretty confident that Jimmer could do it as well as JJ does right now. All he does is dribble for the 15 minutes Ricky is out.

Dalembert is in the doghouse in Dallas and has had his minutes cut significantly. Dallas still likes JJ and would likely welcome him back into the sparkplug role that he never should have left.

As for your trades, I would cry if we were paying Jameer Nelson $8.6 million next year. If he was an expiring I would be all for it.

I actually really like Livingston, and if AK could ever get healthy he could be useful. I would do that trade.
