Although Washington is ranked lower than us, their bench outplayed ours.
And that right their folks is the reason we are losing.

Bear in mind that these stats don't take into consideration the performance we got from our bench tonight! 5 - 23 shooting.

It doesn't help either that our bench doesn't get staggered enough with the starters. We either give up leads or get into big holes when Adelman throws out the hockey shift. I'm not even sure getting Bud back is enough because Ronny isn't an offensive player and DC is a pick and pop guy. How is the second unit supposed to get any points in the paint beyond JJ driving to the basket? I think Flip saw this potential flaw and that is why he was so high on Olynyk in the draft. Either way, we don't have the personnel to cover up the flaw and Adelman hasn't done a good enough job of staggering Love and Pek to cover it up.

I think they need to have Rubio on the floor with second unit. I don't know how many times I saw a guy cutting to the rim only to have JJ dribble away from him. Between Adelman and JJ, I am surprised the rest get any shots at all.

Steven Adams was the guy we needed to get. And Bud is gonna help no doubt, but the guys is coming back from his second serious knee injury in less than a year. Our bench's shooting and rebounding is the worst in the NBA. Teams with bad bench's don't make the playoffs, just look at Portland last season!

I think a trade that makes sense for both teams is Derrick Williams to SAC for Jason Thompson.
Thompson gives us another solid big, who is more than capable of starting at the 4 or 5 if called upon. The Kings have rumoured interest in Williams and Thompsons appears to have lost favour in Sac Town, down about 8 mins a game compared to last season. Contracts match so no issues there.

Another major issue is the 3pt shooting we are getting off the bench. A league worse 0.22. Even Budinger's return won't lift it passed 0.30.
Barea - 0.26
Shved - 0.14
Williams - 0.15
Atrocious...........

I'm not really understanding the love for Jason Thompson.

He's a realistic acquisition and definately helps this team more than Derrick William's currently does. If Pek gets injured, whose going to start at centre? Touch wood he doesn't but if he does the only option we currently have is to move Love to the 5 and start either Cunningham or Williams at the 4. We get eaten alive down low if that happens.

Think backup SG is a far more pressing need than backup big, especially one that isn't a shot-blocker. Rather shop D-Will around for a SG instead of another PF. In your scenario, if Pek goes down and we had Thompson, we're still going to get eaten alive.
