I'm sure every team plans to pursue Kevin Love. Knicks, Bulls, Lakers, Heat, Rockets, etc. You name it. He's a highly touted player that hopefully never even gets to the free agent market. That's the only downside to having the best power forward in the world and a superstar. Every team thinks they can get him.
Bill Simmons is likely writing up a new K-Love trade article as we speak.

Its a sign of how little respect the Twolves get as an organization (maybe not undeserved due to our recent past) that we will be barraged with articles of how teams are salivating to dismantle this team for scrap...I hope in a few years we will be a place with its own recognized gravitational pull.

He has to go to FA to get a new 5 year deal, and even more money.

Carmelo will be 31 at that time, so why would Love want to sign up for four years, not to mention Melo isn't a very good fit with Love. I think Love is heading west if he leaves the wolves.

You know what I meant. Hopefully he re-signs with the Wolves without going through the FA process of entertaining other teams. There, is that better?

Melo's a terrible fit for any post player. There's just not enough room for him. Melo should be looking for Rondo or just take himself to LA and play with Kobe. Guards help Melo more than a big does. Just look back to his Denver days when they had Iverson and also when they went after Billups. Amar'e paired with Melo was a failure. Why would K-Love be any better of a fit, even though he's by far the superior player to Amar'e.
And if Love is going to leave, it will be for Houston. Harden and Howard present the best opportunity for him. Two young elite players that can fit with Love's game. Again, hopefully Love stays in Sota like I expect him too.

Could you imagine the rebounding on that team? The two best rebounders in the league would just eat everything up. Love's stretch ability would also work really well with Howard's complete lack of a jumper.

I'm glad you understand half of why I said it would be a great fit. Add in the ability of Harden to run the P/R and it makes even more sense.

I'll just say it now with complete confidence. Kevin Love will never play for the Knicks. Most likely scenario is that he stays with the Wolves. Otherwise, I see him ending up with the Lakers or Rockets or some team maybe one top player away from chMpionship contention. And that's it. Love likes it here and likes the idea of being the guy who picks up where KG left off and carries this team into contention. The bigger flight risk is Ricky. He's a guy I can see wanting to live in New York and play for the Knicks.
Yet, as we all know, the key to keeping both these guys will be how well this team is playing -- whether we are a contending playoff team. But in that sense, we're no different than any other NBA team except maybe the Lakers. Assuming the money is roughly equal, top players nearly always go to teams that have the best chance of winning. That's why LeBron went to Miami and not New York even though the Knicks made a huge push to sign him. Even the Lakers don't have the allure they once had. Dwight Howard left LA for Houston. And to players like the idea of being the top dog on their respective teams.
So I'm not worried about the Knicks or Lakers. I'm just worried about winning. Winning will keep Love and Rubio here. We have the added edge that Ricky and Love like each other and like playing together. And they both like Pek.

Kevin Love will NEVER play for the Lakers as long as Kurt Rambis is employed by them.
