Now I'm going to have to listen to Lip sound the Doom & Gloom horn for the next week...

(I'm sure glad I didn't go tonight -- it sounded like a damn ugly game!)

Good choice, Tim. I watched the firstrow feed while watching the baseball game, and it was tough to watch. I'm hoping we get a game report from Lip, because the baseline camera on firstrow was difficult to follow.

A lot of bad things to talk about tonight, but let's cover a couple positives. Really nice to see Love play he way we know he can. Remindful of two years ago with the addition of some nice passes. I really like his full court passes to Brewer...should result in some easy buckets this year.

The other positive was the 16 steals. Unfortunately it's a two-edged sword, because our gambling defense also resulted in a lot of wide-open jumpers for Toronto.

Now, the negatives. I had forgotten what a poor rebounder Brewer is. You would think an athletic 6-9 SF would be a rebounding machine, but his slight frame and short arms really hurt him on the boards. NO rebounds tonight in 27 minutes! Heck, Pek only had two in 24 minutes. There is no way we should get outrebounded by Toronto 44-33.

Rubio was 0-7 from the field (our point guards were 3-23 combined!), and showed terrible form like last year on his jump shot. Where is the Rubio in the youtube videos with the new form as he curled off screens? Bobby Jackson needs to get him into the film room to watch how he was shooting in Europe, and then practice it on the court. There are 8 days before the next game...plenty of time to work on his terrible form.

I'm a little reluctant to talk about the next topic, and hope that someone who was at the game will tell me I'm wrong, but Rubio looks joyless to me out there. I've never seen him like this. To quote him from last year, he needs to "change his face"! It really looks like he isn't having any fun out there, and that is unusual for Ricky. I recall Adelman saying last week that Ricky seemed tired in Mankato. I'm a little worried that something is going on with him.

Okay, time to watch the Tigers finish off a no hitter, and wait for a real game report!
