ESPN, Lakers and the Kevin Love fantasy

On the NBA page on E S P N . C O M is a video titled: Should Lakers trade for Kevin Love?
Followed by: Should the Lakers wait for Love or trade for him here and now?
First off someone needs to slap these guys in the face and bring them back down to earth. What can the fricken Lakers offers to Minny for Love at the moment? That's right NOTHING. They also need to stop with the assumption that Love is going to sign with them in 2015, especially after what Love said today about Minnesota's roster and future being more appealing than LALs. Hopefully that brings them back down to earth.
Why is it that ESPN and every delusional Lakers fan feel more entitled then the rest? I know its a big market, but go dam it's pathetic.

Matty, why does this surprise you? That's their bread and butter-conjecture, hyperbole, and worldwide superstar marketing. Love is more valuable to the league as a Laker or a Knick.

Why is he more Valuable as a knick or laker? KD/Westbrook have no prob being valuable in OKC,,,Or LBJ had no prob being valuable when he was in CLE...Same with Melo when he was in Denver and so on and so on.....

It doesn't surprise me Lloyd. Nothing surprises me when it comes to the Media, especially the US Media. Unfortunately NZ is turning that way too.
But like MN Sports said, I think the players are just as marketable as the franchise they play for. For example Steven Adams: By drafting him OKC just signed up 4 mil Kiwi fans.

To be fair in this case there are a lot of reasons to think Love may want to end up in LA and the Lakers are going to have a very good pick this year (since we all know the NBA has them winning the Lottery this year). I don't think that would be enough to get a deal done, but it does keep it within the realm of possibility. And history shows when LA wants to acquire an asset they usually get it. At least this wasn't another Love for Pau straight up trades.

He literally insulted the Lakers a few days ago, I'm not worried about them in particular

If Love decides to stay he would become one of my all time favorite athletes. I'll have to see it to believe it but it would be a tremendous boost for the Wolves and their fans.
