1) Thad Young

2) Chase Budinger

Plus 1 - You only have to play defense approximately 50% of the time.

Can Thad be both 1 and 2? And to think Shabazz has been declared a Ballstopper. Thad must think he is the best player on the team? Is there any way in hell someone will trade us a coach for Thad?

Absolutely! Not a good coach.

Is there any way that Thad might go down with an "injury" in the next 24 - 48 hours? Like in the NHL, a "lower body injury" would work. Let him sit, and play ANYONE else besides him? I don't care if he drops 24 points a nite, he doesn't play defense and doesn't rebound, he is afraid to shoot the 3 (which would help our spacing!) and stops the ball continuously. The season has been lost since Rubio went down, play the kids! The 76ers sold off ALL of their vets to get the best picks in the draft and are trying anyone with a pulse on the court. The Wolves should do the same, trade Thad would be a good start. He isn't helping the Pups learn how to play as a team.

Thad Young is not playing that great. At times, he's been atrocious. And the effort seems to be inconsistent at best. But, is he going to be the whipping boy EVERY game now?
He's been public enemy #1 the past two games. Good thing he's scoring at a decent enough clip or I'd worry about his house being burned to the ground.

20.0 ppg (17 - 32 fg)
6.0 reb
3.0 ast
2.0 TO
2.0 steals

Abe, he deserves to be the whipping boy at this point. He completely stops the ball rotation. He doesn't guard the pick and roll on defense and tries for steals as though he was Corey Brewer. Not to mention he has been BRINGING THE BALL UP ON OFFENSE!!! He should never be allowed to dribble farther than the mid-court stripe. Hell, Shabazz has a better handle than Thad. He ONLY had 4 turnovers tonite, but it sure seemed like it was more than that.

I have been reading the posts for a while, just not posting, so I apologize for anything I have said, or will say about Thad. I just cannot watch him anymore. Maybe Bennett will wake up after hitting that 3 tonite, and force a Flip to trade Thad to provide more playing time.

I would love to see a game in person this year, just to get a feel for how the bench looks during time outs, just to know if Thad is giving any assistance to the Pups or if he is just another Beasley.

By the way, 151 and Coke started to go down to easy about halfway thru the 2nd. Time for a refill!

Oh, I get a lot of it. He's arguably the most "proven" guy out there at the moment. So expectations are higher. Actually, I think that's what this comes down to mostly because we're collectively more willing to give the young guys a much longer leash for inconsistent performances.

And yes... his defense is awful. BUT... A LOT of the guys here were raving about his defense (compared to Love) this offseason despite the stats showing it wasn't going to be much (any) better.

So, for some... the stance seems to have changed. Again, back to expectations? There will be many nights Young will be more than worthy of being the whipping boy. And in some ways, even the past two nights there were things that were borderline inexcusable. I'm simply pointing out that he shot 65%. Scored 17 points a night after scoring 23. And, he doesn't do EVERYTHING wrong every night.

He's just a mediocre player who gives a mediocre effort on a truly terrible team right now. We could find any number of guys to pinpoint our venom toward and there would be an avalanche of statistics or anecdotal observations to support our stance.

My problem with Thad is that he is playing soft right now. He certainly is not running through a brick wall like he told Flip that he would. At this point it does not look like a good marriage as Thad is not interested in being on a rebuilding team anymore and probably will not want to come off the bench for this team, which is an ideal role. He should probably be a strong trade candidate at some point. It is a shame as I really like Thad but it does not look like it will work out here. Then again he may just still be reeling from the loss of his mother.

A lot of players lose parents. And some even children. It sucks. But, eventually, you have to go back to work. Everybody in real life has to do it at some point... NBA players are no exception.

I think it has a lot more to do with him going from one very very bad team to another very very bad team. That's got to wear on a player to be in one hopeless situation after another.

Thad was playing poorly before his mother passed.
