I read that earlier today. That would be a real kick in the nuts to the Cavs if it happens (giving up the #1 overall pick the last two years for a short term rental). We'll see how it all plays out. I'm glad we don't have that distraction.

Look anything can happen but I don't think Love is that big of a jerk to opt out and leave. In addition the suggestion of the Lakers is nearly ridiculous. Until they have something else there besides old Kobe there is no reason Love is gonna go there. Having said all that yeah not having that distraction with Love's contract is great it outlines one of the big upsides of having a Rubio deal done. Thad can opt out or whatever but I don't think that's going to be really big news.

Clickbait IMO. So long as the Cavs right the ship and have a very competitive run in the playoffs I can't see any way in which he would go to a loser on a long term deal. On the other hand if the Cavs blow up and the personalities in the locker room tire of his attitude (assuming he's the same as he was here) then maybe he will.

He stands to make more money by opting out and re-signing than by extending his current deal. This shouldn't be news to anyone as it is pretty much happening with every max player coming off their first extensions. What's next? Lebron is leaving because he has an opt out for next year. So long as Lebron is in Cleveland, Love will be there because he wants to win and that tends to happen when you have the best player in the world on your team. Anyone with a bad attitude on that team is getting kicked to the curb unless their name is Love, Lebron or Kyrie and I would venture to guess that even Kyrie only has so much of a leash before they'd ditch him given what they could get in return including the additional locker room chemistry.

I clicked it. I know Love wants to go home back to Portland where he is loved and adored.
