After the Brooklyn Game

Isn't now the time to bring KG back? It is just wrong seeing him play in Brooklyn. Is their any logical reason they want to keep him? Flip should be on the phone with them every day offering Bud and Corey.

Ha. I don't get why people still dislike the guy. We are not champs now, he is solid with Flip and Sam. I think he would be a great veteran mentor to WIg, Bazz and Bennet. I really don't see what Bud and Corey are giving us right now anyway.

No KG for me either. We only have room for one Kevin on this team. And why does everyone think other teams will just scoop up our garbage? We don't like Bud and Brewer anymore so we'll assume other teams will just take them off our hands???

I am assuming that KG is slowly becoming Brooklyn's garbage too.

No thanks. It doesn't make sense for either team. Nets would be taking on year(s) of salary whereas KG's an expiring. Wolves need Brewer/Bud more than they need KG, even if they're struggling. Not to mention KG looked washed up last night. Thad swatted the shit outta his layup attempt. This is definitely his last year in the league. What a career, though.

I disagree we need bud or Brewer more than we need defence and rebounding in limited minutes at the 4. Bud has nothing left and Brewer has potential but his minutes can be replaced with what we have. I think the Memphis game and Detroit game (with no Monroe) showed that we can be exploited by big lineups. I think we will see that even more when we match up with Portland, the Clippers, and Golden State.

1. I'd rather Young and Bennett play over Garnett right now. Hell, Turiaf too if he's healthy.

2. I don't know what's going on with Budinger after his decent preseason, but I know there's a chance he gets better. Garnett is steady on the decline.

3. We should have beat Memphis and we did beat Detroit. We won both rebounding margins.

4. Clips and Warriors bigs don't scare me, Pekovic often does work against them, and as I highlighted pre-Love trade, Thad Young does just fine against Griffin and Lee. Also, I'll take Dieng all day over any of their reserves as the main big off the bench. (Portland's different)

All of these points are very optimistic about the state of our bigs right now. I think you are missing the point that Gasol and Zbo scored at will against our bigs in that game, and that Monroe and Drummond together would have done the same. Rebound margin means less if their bigs shoot 75%. We need some length for some of those matchups. Even if KG never played, I think even if Garnett did nothing but play one on one with Dieng every day he would be doing more for the long-term progress of our team than watching Brewer run around like a chicken with his head cut off or hoping one day Bud will be well enough to hit a big 3 off the bench. This year is a delicate balance between teaching the team how to win, but also developing and molding the talent. The number of wins that Brewer and even moreso Bud are going to give us is not at all worth the money.

I love how when people bring up a KG trade they forget the obvious. The Nets still need KG. They have about as many wings as we do and they don't have much in the way of bigs after Plumlee, Lopez and a stretch guy in Tele. Lopez has a hard time staying healthy so... Yeah I just don't see them trading KG unless they get a big back or have some plan to bring one in.
