Chicago at Wolves GDT

Not sure what to expect tonight. Chicago will be both mad and tired after losing an overtime game to the Cavs last night. The KOM predicts a loss followed by 3 days off to work on their most glaring weaknesses.

After a big day like Rubio had on the business side, it seems more often than not there can be a letdown in the next game. Hopefully the "less often" happens tonight.

So we are looking for Pek to continue his play from the 2nd half against Detroit. Zach got his feet wet and Wiggins had a nice 3rd quarter stint, so it'll be nice to see both of them continue their progress.

Anyone think Martin will get the start tonight? I've been anxious to see Brewer come of the bench...

I expect a Wolves win. Butler, Gibson and Rose are all listed as questionable, though I think Gibson will play.

The Wolves had a day of rest, and likely are all excited about Ricky's new contract. Hopefully Ricky doesn't try to prove himself tonight, as he doesn't need to. Keep the same mindset as he had against MEM/DET and I'll be happy.

Young will have his hands full with Gasol on defense. Pau's an XL sized big with a really good post game. We'll likely end up doubling on iso post ups to get the ball out of his hands.

On offense, I wonder how much Thad will go against Pau. My guess is not much. Jo and Taj make more sense there while Pau can shift over to Nikola and Gorgui.

I hope K-Mart starts. We need his three-point shooting and having him out there with Ricky is huge as it gives him another place to pass the ball. We don't want Corey spotted up ready to shoot. We do want him creating havoc off the bench, though. Williams-Brewer-Muhammad-Bennett-Dieng off the bench. Corey would still be 5th option on offense in that lineup.

100-93 Minnesota win.

Yep, difficult to know what to expect tonight. The Wolves got lucky with Chicago playing an overtime game last night against the Cavs, and with Rose and Gibson both spraining ankles. But the fact that they eventually lost means they will be more focused tonight...they don't want to fall to 1-2, and their loss to the Wolves in preseason is still fresh in their minds. If Rose and Gibson are both mobile, this is a tough matchup for the Wolves, but we don't know their status yet. Regardless, the oddsmakers have the Bulls a 2 1/2 point favorite, so this might be our third consecutive close game.

We don't know which Pek will show up. There was some talk this morning on Trent Tucker's show that Pek seems out of shape and might need several games to get back into game shape. That said, he played really well in the second half of the Pistons game. It's hard to predict how he will play against Noah, because he missed both Bulls games last year and hasn't faced Noah since November 2012. Pek did have a decent game then though with 18-8, despite 4 Noah blocks.

Rubio was the last guy to leave the court in the shootaround, and knowing the kind of guy he is, he probably really wants to show the fans (and mgmt.) something tonight. That could be good or bad. If he lets the game come to him and doesn't force things, I think he will have a very good game.

Flip went out if his way to praise Kevin Martin's defense last game, so I think he will reward him with a start. Dieng, Bennett, Shabazz (or Bud), Corey and Mo should provide a lot of excitement off the bench. Let's hope Mo stays hot. Whether Bud is in Flip's 10-man rotation or not tonight, I still think he will see the court after getting the dnp last game...it would be nice to see him drain a 3-pointer or 2.

Wiggins really came alive in the third quarter of the Pistons game before leaving the game for good with foul trouble, so I'm hoping he can bring that energy tonight. The fans are eagerly awaiting his first breakout game, and Dunleavy will seem like a day at the beach after having to face Tony Allen in the opener.

And as for Thad Young.....(silence) ;-)

No prediction from me tonight...too many unknowns. Man, a win and 2-1 would be nice.

OK...what's the TV situation tonight? Looking at my on screen guide, FSN is showing the Wild Game (I have Charter cable). I thought it was on TV tonight?

NBA TV, baby :thumb: !

Edit: I'm also seeing it on channel 963, if you have Comcast. I haven't searched, but WGN may be showing it too. Hopefully one of these options will work for you.

FSN + is what popped up during the Wolves vs Pistons game for the Chicago telecast so it better be there.

I decided to skip the free tickets, they gave me tickcets in the 2nd to last row in section 223 waaayyy behind the backboard. They called me today to ask if I was still going and i told them the truth, I don't want to sound ungrateful because they were free but that is TERRIBLE marketing

I do see it on WGN. That works. Sometimes it's fun to listen to the other guys call the game. Less homerism. I used to have FSN plus, but charter just went all digital and all my channels changed - now I don't see it. Oh well, I've got TV, so I'm good. Thanks guys,
