Kind of early to get this thread going, but Barreiro just dropped some news. No confirmation yet, but he thinks Kevin Martin may not be playing tonight...some undisclosed nagging injury. If true, not a big loss on the defensive side of the ball, but it'll be hard to replace his scoring. If he's out, we get to see if the Bud we saw in preseason is for real, and a better chance for Zach to get his feet wet. This wasn't a game we expected to win anyway, so maybe it's better to rest him.

Kind of tough to have the opener opposite World Series Game 7, but I'll be watching more Wolves than baseball. Like the Bulls last week, this is a test for our offense as Memphis is a physical, defensive-oriented team. I'm most concerned about Thad having to battle Z-Bo on the boards, so I'm hoping he brings his A rebounding game tonight.

Memphis favored by 8 1/2. I don't think it happens tonight, but wouldn't a steal on the road be nice?

On the topic of rebounding, I'm interested to see how much of an impact Wiggins can make against and team that dominates the boards

Kevin Martin doesn't affect us at all in my opinion not wishing injury but I wish he would disappear for 20 games so everyone else can play lol.

I predicted 52 wins in that topic but I don't know what to think about the game tonight , we are such a wildcard this year

I suspect Brewer would get the start in place of Martin...

ugh I hope not if Wiggins is starting at SF, just seems like a terrib;e fit offensively but I'd love to be wrong

I would love to see Shabazz start if Martin can't go.

Barriero just said Martin reportedly twisted an ankle boxing out in practice yesterday. He said that had to be inaccurate, though, because he couldn't remember ever seeing him boxing out!

I'm guessing they start like this:

PG: Rubio
SG: Bud
SF: Brewer
PF: Young
C: Pek

And back them up with:

PG: Mo
SG: Wiggins
SF: Bazz
PF: Bennett
C: Dieng

Wiggins will start at SF most of the year, but with Martin out, I'm guessing Flip may want to pair him with Bazz off the bench. Just guessing though. It gives him a chance to watch the action for the first 8 minutes of his first game...calm the jitters a little.

Nahh... Wiggins has to start from day 1. He IS the future.

Matchup to watch: Jordan Adams vs. Zach Lavine

I hear what you're saying, Tim, but Flip may not like the Brew/Bazz tandem as backup...and Wiggins has only had a couple days of play the past ten days. Seems like a lot of reasons to start Corey tonight. We'll have to see what Flip does. Who knows...Martin may still play.

Rumors now that Ronny may be out too, so GR3 could be suiting up for his first game!
