I REALLY hope that becomes a theme

And outrebounded their bench 22-6. Granted our bench played more minutes, but that's because Flip was confident in what the bench can do. Spreading the minutes this year will mean whoever is hot on a particular night is more likely to be fresh down the stretch, which should help us close out games this year. And we should be fresher on the back end of BTBs too.

Bennett and Bazz both looked like they were trying to prove something. It's fun to watch these young guys play and wonder how good they can become. I like Brewer...but, I'd be OK with seeing less of him and more of the young guys including LaVine. Since they let Barea go and publicly stated they are committed to youth - let the kids play! I wanted to see LaVine play last night - even if it was 5 minutes.

I'm okay with cutting back Brewer's minutes, and Bud's if he doesn't show he can hit the three ball at his pre-injury rate, but I was fine with Flip leaving LaVine and GR3 on the bench last night. Playing against a physical team like the Griz is not the way to break in, especially if the game is tight. We had a chance to make an opening night statement, and Flip probably didn't think Zach or Glen would help win the game...I agree. They will both get some opportunity in blowouts...maybe even tonight...but I liked Flip's 10-man rotation last night.

Fair argument LST. For me though, there were two guys killing us last night. Pek and Brewer. They had to play Pek since Dieng went out hurt for a while. But I didn't see why Brewer deserved 27 minutes the way he played. I feel there are plenty of options this year and they can try to find a hot hand vs. hope the starter comes around. 5 minutes - that's all I wanted to see of LaVine - HA! Maybe he sparks the team with a big dunk or defensive stop. Just my opinion - you also have a good argument though.

I am ready to see Shabazz start at SG again if Martin is out. Brewer needs come off the bench.

Yeah, I don't need to see a lot of Brewer, either. Hopefully K-Mart is back. Someone we hardly talk about is Wiggins. It's going to be fun to see his game grow. I expect we'll see his comfort level steadily go up and he'll start making more and more plays. And reservations on the cruise ship will start taking off...

I don't have an issue the way Flip is handling player rotations/combinations and I think it would be rash to change anything up much for at least another 10-20 games. That means Pek is allowed to struggle; Bud continues to get minutes; Wiggins is given a limited role, etc., etc.
It was one game. We need to let the ingredients season a bit before changing things up. Let's see how things look after 10 games. My guess is that injuries will force the issue more than some player bumping another player based on merit.
