Bold prediction time

Lots of chatter here about what we will gain and lose with the trade. Lots of stats etc......I think we are better off as a team without Love. I am pumped about the trade I am going to step it up a bit. My bold prediction...............

We will be within 5 wins of last year's total, be much improved defensively and more exciting to watch and no one on TV will admit that they were wrong. That means 35-45 depending on injuries. If I was to pick an exact number I am going to say.......43 wins. One game over 500. We probably wont be a playoff team with this record but to me this would mean Flip should be GM and Coach of the year but he will get overlooked completely.

I was kidding big time, but I do think he'll open eyes. Those that are down on him (they know who they are) will be forced to love him and those who are high on him will be rewarded.

40 wins or so is what I'll say pre-season. No way they win less than 30 games like a lot of people are saying.

Wiggins has a terrific opportunity to win ROY. Not sure if he'll actually win it, but he's a 1st-Team All Rookie player no doubt.

Pekovic makes another strong push for an All-Star bid, but falls short.

I think it was pretty obvious you are kidding. Wiggins for ROY will probably be the only award that gets a sniff for the Wolves.

I am thinking we win 30 games. Not very bold. If we win 40 or more games. I think Flip will be in the running for coach and executive of the year.

So we're in a worse position than two years ago with the unnatural amount of injuries? That team won more than 30 games...

Cam, That is what my gut says. I think part of it id that I want to see the young guys play. I would rather win 30 games next year and Wiggins/Lavine/Deing/Bennett/Shabazz play a good number of minutes then win 40 and they barely play at all.

I think bleedspeed's prediction of 30 games is a fair prediction, barring no more significant roster moves. And I would be happy with that, especially as bleed says if they give significant minutes to our rookies and second year players, because I think they will be a much more fun team to cheer for this year. And there is no question in my mind that the future is very bright for this franchise.

The West us just too strong for a team that will rely a lot on rookies to be immediately competitive. It's always takes time for new players to get used to playing together, and rookies also generally need time to adapt to the NBA. And even though I am 100% in favor of jettisoning Love, replacing his production is not going to happen overnight.

I expect this team to get better as the season progresses, providing they can stay healthy. So my somewhat bold prediction is this: the Wolves will win 20 games in the last half of the season.

And bold prediction #2: Rubio's PPG and APG will each increase 20% this year.

I think the wolves have a range from 30-45 wins, but I'll say 42 just to make them better than last years total with Love. I think without the trade this team would have been looking at 45+ though.

I actually think Lavine is going to be our "go to" guy in crunch time. He seems to have a good handle, is athletic, and should be able to get a good look anytime from 10-15 feet. I do think he will struggle defensively if he is at the SG spot though.

Having Gorgi, and Shabazz in their second year, along with Young picking up some of the slack from Love, should give them a chance to be competitive on a nightly basis. I don't think the rebounding drop will be as bad as some believe if we start Wiggins or Bennet at the SF spot.
