Wolves trading or cutting JJ

Lately, I've read a lot of speculation that JJ will get traded or bought out. Presumably, the Wolves want to open a spot for GR3 and get rid of a potentially disgruntled player and with Ricky, Mo and LaVine he's not needed. I'm sure Glen would not want to eat the entire $4 million plus contract if he didn't have to, but I'm expecting something to happen sooner rather than later, at least I'm hoping that's the case.
There was also a report out saying the Wolves were seeking to not only trade JJ, but K-Mart as well. http://www.sportsworldreport.com/articles/33320/20140827/chicago-bulls-trade-rumors-jj-barea-kevin-martin-derrick-williams-options-as-michael-beasley-free-agent-target-with-taj-gibson-trade-off.htm
Do you think its likely Martin goes and if both JJ and Martin go, who do we add besides GR3? Udoh or Brand would be guys I'd consider.

Keep in mind that Flip singled out Martin and Dieng as guys that have not been talked about in a trade a couple weeks ago on funkadelic.

Flip isn't trading Martin for a roster spot and cap space. We have 1 true SG on the roster in Martin. It's a stretch to say Lavine is a true SG at this point because of how rail thin he is. I suppose Wiggins could get some burn at the 2 as part of the rotation, but I think if Flip is going to trade Martin it would be for someone who could give us minutes at the 2. I'll always go back to trading Martin/JJ/Bud to the Pelicans for Gordon and Rivers. It opens up the roster spot needed to add GR3 and clears some of the roster clutter while giving us another potential all-star if Gordon can stay healthy.

I'm fine with keeping K-Mart until our young guns show they can take over offensively. I think Flip was really focused on executing the Love trade and now that its done he's looking at possible roster tweaks so I wouldn't absolutely rule out a Martin trade. The odds are pretty good Barea gets moved or bought out. I don't see anything else likely now, but I'm sure Flip is still trying to improve the roster.

I have ZERO interest in Udoh, he does less than Moute on offense and doesn't rebound. I would be pretty excited if we could get Brand but his playing time would be limited

I agree that Udoh is not much of an offensive player and right now we wouldn't have a roster spot for him. He's a helluva defender though and he's also a rim protector. He may be redundant with Turiaf, but I've really liked him when I've watched him and if we had an open spot, I'd at least consider him. I'd prefer Brand.

We have to get rid of Barea just to open a spot for Robinson. Where is this extra position coming from to sign someone? Martin won't be traded. Brewer won't be traded. Budinger's value is too low to where he also won't be traded. Once again, I'm disappointed in the Hummel signing. Wasted roster spot even if it is a guy on the end of the bench making peanuts.

I agree with getting rid of Barea to open up a spot. For now, I'd like to keep Martin as we could use a good outside shooter. If the only remaining move we make is to dump Barea and sign GR3, I'd be very happy.

Don't know if this has been brought up in prior threads but.....
If we really needed a roster spot (for GR3)---releasing JJ (4M) is NOT the right solution. It's the cheapest guy on the roster that we should cut. This of course is Robbie (880K). JJ is going to want at least 3M to leave. Why let him go, when at the trade deadline----there's going to be teams that would want him just to shed some more salary. JJ's value will be at the deadline as an expiring contract. You don't buy those guys out!!!!! Stick him as the 15th man because regardless---he's going to want at least 3M to be bought out. So, we're going to pay the 3 anyway, whether he sits on the bench or be brought out----it's just another million that we have to eat should we keep him. With first round picks being worth 3M per (about the asking monetary price for them), it's worth keeping JJ here----hey it worked against us with Wesley!?!?
Robbie is just 880K----a drop in the bucket when it comes to players salary. And honestly, for how nice of guy he is----he's still probably NOT going to be picked up by anyone else.

I agree on all points, Cam. Like you I'm particularly mystified at the Hummel signing.
